Do these engines have the same type of internal garbage as the SRT 10? How much boost can they take and whats their limit on stock insides?

FastRam said:6.1: Decent internals but the pistons, rotating assembly is not forged, trans is a Mercedes Benz sourced item which I recall is factory rated for 525 ft-lb torque. Rear end is a 3.06:1 diff, independent rear suspension with half shafts. This is the weak link in the drive train, i.e. half shafts. They tend to and will snap if big HP and torque are applied to an OEM shaft, especially with drag radials or slicks. Trans has been reported to be good to 700 plus HP. Mercedes has used the same trans in the E55 and E63 wagons, both of which are higher rated (OEM HP and torque) than the LX SRT's. Engines seem to be happy with FI but environment, duty cycle and tuning are key to durability.
Actually, the Crank is the only part that is forged. The top ring land on the pistons make this an unhappy motor with high boost F/I applications. 4 -5 psi seems to be doing well on a stock bottom end with a good tune.FastRam said:6.1: Decent internals but the pistons, rotating assembly is not forged, trans is a Mercedes Benz sourced item which I recall is factory rated for 525 ft-lb torque.
