I truely believe Aston Martin was one of Ford's true assets... :(

It's done: Aston Martin sold for $925 million

The deal is done, and it happened exactly the way everyone expected it to. Ford Motor Company has sold Aston Martin to a consortium led by Prodrive founder David Richards, Aston Martin collector John Sinders, and Investment Dar and Adeem Investment Co, two international investment companies headquartered in Kuwait. The sale price is for $925 million, and Ford will retain a $77 million stake in the sports car maker, which pegs the brand's worth at just over $1 billion which means Ford will actually get only $848 million for Aston Martin. Ford sounds pleased with the deal in the press release it issued this morning, stating Aston Martin is better off with a company that offer it more capital to work with. The deal is scheduled to hit the balance sheet in the second quarter, which means we might be seeing Ford temporarily in the black then because of this one-time special gain.

I'm just waiting for them to sell off the Pinto division, I think I can afford that hehe.

Any idea what Ford originally paid for Aston? I have a feeling it was probably more than they sold it for. It's interesting that a few years ago it was all about buying up as many nameplates as you could and the trend now seems to be sell, sell, sell.

I can't remember what the purchase price is but if I remember correctly, Ford isn't even close to the amount of money they invested into it.

I will see what I can find...

Maybe if Ford stopped making ugly cross-over SUV's and Cars they might be in the black all the time.

Then again companies like this are so mired in Middle to Upper Managment that they don't need they'll never get back in the black.

hopefully they sell range rover next.... since they stopped putting bmw engines in those... they're big P.O.S's

OK , there was rumor of interest by one of the richest Belgium "lords"... :dontknow:

Range Rover.... i had one... had to sell that piece of junk due the maintence costs...

Was certenly ever built for rich people using it on sundays for the 2 miles up there golf course. That makes 208 miles a year = 104 on power and 104 on the trailer of the dealer. :(
