While driving to Asheville on Friday, I witnessed what has to be one of the most boneheaded moves of all time.

While heading west on 40 there was a tractor trailer that had just passed a slower rig heading up a small hill. The faster rig had its turn signal on and was waiting for the all clear before moving back into the right lane. This impatient idiot in a 4 door sedan (talking on his cell phone) moves over to the right lane to pass the rig on the right. Well the rig was already started to move over and had to swerve pretty hard not to take out the sedan that had taken his space :(

It gets better.......

So the idiot in the sedan gets pissed that the rig almost hit him even though he was the ass in the whole situation...Sooo, what does he do ? He pulls in front of the tractor trailer and slams on his brakes :ahhhhh: Well the truck driver was able to keep control and not hit him and turn the car into scrap metal. It was unbelievable.....that guy is lucky to be alive.

Just one asshole out of MILLIONS that truckers have to put up with. :(

Sounds like you were headed up black mountain, or the one just before the gorge on the state line.
Run into it all the time unfortunatly, kinda sad no one has any consideration any more.

Last week I was in chicago and they have tons of construction and lane shut downs going on. I had changed lanes to get on I-90 the skyway which closed down to one lane. The lane on the left of me actually ended. I was running about 60 mph and looking out my right mirror to make sure anyone needed merging, since people in chicago are sooooo courtious. When all the sudden I heard major crashing sounds, and a bump to the truck. I looked back in my left mirror and some idiot had tried to get around me before the lane ended. The pylons and cones they had there were now up in the sky, shooting over into oncomming traffic and against the trailor, and he also almost lost control, until he hit the trailor tandems and it shot him back into the concrete wall. totally destroying his new altima.

All this .............just to get 5 feet further:confused:

Hahahah!!! I was thinking the same thing. :D He must be typing on a normal keyboard.

Use to see it all the time when I drove truck. I used to run the Grapevine a lot, and it never ceased to amaze me how idiotic some folks are.

Stink, that story reminded me of the time I was parked at a truck stop. The tractor was turned to the left so I couldn't see the trailer wheels on the right side. I hop up in the cab and go to pull out when I feel this "bump" LOL. Turns out some dumbass lot lizard done parked her car right up under my trailer more or less. I took out the whole passenger side of the car, crushed the roof down below the door handles hehehe. Well, she was all upset but didn't want to turn it in to insurance or anything cause she was married and her OM didn't know she was hanging at the truckstop turning tricks. LOL. I wish I would have gotten pictures of that car hehe.

I saw a similar situation on 95 North right in NYC just over the GW Bridge at the point where 3 freeway merge and it is always under constrution. Some dumb ass in a little Toyota truck decides he is not going to let a rig over and the rig is already making the move to the far left lane. I am directly behind the dumb ass and I backed off so he could break and let the rig over. He continues to play chicken and gets crushed like a tin can between the Jersy Barrier and the truck.

I don't get if these idiots are trying to save time (obviously failed, because now he is not going anywhere for at least 3 hours, plus screws up traffic for everyone else for the next 8 hours) or if their dicks are so small that that feel they must act like assholes to keep what little self pride they have.

Thats funny as hell ;)

Give my props to the truckers out there and give them space when they need it. See far more idiot drivers vs bad truck drivers.....

hahahahahaha......serves him right!!!!!!

Thanks for the props guys, Myself and Hammerhead appreciate it.

Sometimes we do go over the law especially with the rules of hours of running, but with the rules the way they are we have to to make a $.

But most people would be amazed at how courtious most drivers are if they just took a chance.

I once read an article from triple A that read that 82% of all accidents involving trucks end up being the automobiles fault. That survey was quickly removed from publication, due to the fact that in most states the major amount of income a state makes, and insurance companies make , is from the trucking industry.
If you take a look at fines and tickets that are actually handed out in a given state you would find that 75% of all tickets are actually from the trucking industry.
The government stays in our pockets and have so many restraints on us and not on the regular travelors that it is amazing what kind of money we spend a year jsut in taxes and fines.

Reminds me of when I was trailering the 442 from one city to the next.
Freeway traffic had to exit due to construction.
Some nit wit decides he can force his way between the rear bumper of my pickup(old GMC) and the car directly behind me.
DUHH! its on a trailer DUMBASS. I wound up driving the wheels of the trailer right over the top of the guys rt front fender on his new crown vic.
I pull over to the right to see if he's going to follow and get insurance paperwork.
He pulls next to me and never looks over. I laughed till I wet my pants:D

Thats hilarious!! :D

There was also some brainiac towing a small U-haul trailer at 85mph   ....Had to get past him before something ugly happened.

BTW, love the Sleestack Avatar ;)

All this talk about driving and the funny thing is I had a customer send me this today as we were discussing female drivers and a joke he sendt me

"Definitely, back in the early 80's when I was commuting back and forth from Cleveland, Texas to Houston (90 miles round trip), I had the unfortunate occasion to get into a few traffic altercations with the "feminine gender". One time in particular, as the bitch blew by me, she just had to flip me off and turn her head (big mistake) to mouth a few choice words. Just as she made her point (?), the traffic in her lane came to an immediate stop (all except her that is). When the smoke finally cleared she had managed to load her Z-car onto a flatbed trailer that had stopped in front of her (much to the dismay of the owner of the trailer)----LOL

Yes, I did manage to smile, wink and throw her a kiss as we (in the other lane) slowly drove passed them.

Now thats justice ROFLMAO
Have A Kind Day
Mike
