I know nothing about ATV's, but am thinking if I get one with a Power Take Off, if they exist...to cut my huge lawn in Illinois (about 1.7 Acres)...anyone know if such a thing exists?

Seems I could cut grass, then go four wheeling...:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: How dumb is that?

IMO you should buy the best mower available. 2 acres of grass is alot to mow everyother week.

You guys rock! Now should that mower be a rider or something else? (like a stand on that I see the yard guys use...)

And what mods are available???

Im pretty sure John Deer makes an atv for such thing....

WILDMAN

Polaris makes one with a PTO and it is also a diesel. Or they make super wide pull behind mowers that have their own engine. They do an incredible job. Check with Polaris. I have 2 Polaris' now and love them.

youll pay 6 to 8 grand for a atv these days i bought a tractor for 7500.00 with a finishing mower 72 inch with box blade straight blade 3 row bottom plow 6 ft disc and 4ft bushhog its a 74 ford 3000 i cut 3 acres of grass this by far is the cheapest and most comfortable was cutting it with a 54 in riding mower that would beet you to death. just my opinion. when i dont have time i pay a young kid to cut it for 75.00 using his stuff and he edges and blows off the drive

I'm to drunk to find it now, but if you go to the NFFF site you will see where I posted links to a snowblower powered by a big block Chevy, and another site with chainsaws powered by small block Chevy's.

I'm sure if you contact either of them they will build you something that will make the neighbors either jealous or mad.:D

Actually a manager I worked for spent some time in Wichita and had a big lot. He mentioned that they had some wicked mowers there. You might want to look into that.

If you have many obstacles to mow around go with a ZTR (Zero Turning Radius). Many people around here swear by them even for wide open fields.

get a banshee and u can do it in a tenth of the time u could do with a 4x4 slug quad :p

dixie chopper makes a good zero turn mower even ave them powered by propane, says they are cheaper than gas

Kubota,x-mark, Dixie chopper, are all excellent zero turns. My son has a 54 inch kubota zero turn with a 23 hp kohler. He can mow at 8 to 9 mph depending on terrain. Way faster than a tractor and bushhog. If you need more info my cousin who was at the Nats owns the Kubota dealership in Longview Texas. I will p.m. you his number if you are interested. He is an SRT 10 owner also.

The first mod should be a cup holder and a cooler rack to keep the beer in. 2 acres could be at least a sixer..:)

I have a 18 hp Craftsman, I am looking to add the Hennesey twin turbo system, He claims it will get close to 150HP and kill all the mosquitoes from the smoke (dual purpose)..:D :D :D

Have you considered the STS system on your Craftsman? If you blow it up, it's a Craftsman..... They'll repair or replace it free, right? :D

Now that is a seriously good idea...do you think I can find forged pistons and rods just as a precaution...kinda like a prophylactic?
