has anyone looked into or know if anyone makes a clutch-a-matic kit or trans for the qc's----years ago some company use to make them for the 727 torque-flights

Lordy,

Why not call B&M and ask them to crank out a custom stick hydro for ya......

Or maybe get yourself another breed ..... SS or Lightning that's real nice....

Hate to send ya to the competition, but a need is a need.....

Good Luck....

Hey Django,
I have spoken with the engineers at B&M and they said there is not a big enough market for it :(.

Cheers J.T.

Ya bro,

In '04 when my clutch problems were so bad, I did too.............

I told 'em money was no object......

There was a pregnant and protracted silence....................................

The guy sez, "Well................... How much money do you have to spend on this project".......

No horseshit story...........

I think, if you really want to go this route, the best way would be to find a wrecked QC... All the parts should be there for a switch. :dontknow:

.... Hell, if Kalani can change his RC to RIGHT-HAND DRIVE ( ), this shouldn't be that big of a deal! :)

The question is whether this would be money well spent......

Otherwise, let's all go back to doing coke 'til all the money in the world is gone....:dontknow:

"There's a hole in Daddy's arm where all the money goes...
Jesus Christ died for nothin' I suppose...."

But I digress.......

I just think it's a bad idea......

I'm not sayin' whether it's a bad idea or not.... :dontknow: ;)

Dude just asked if it could be done. :)

.......... Hell, I think "Pro-Street" Hotrods are a waste of money too... :dontknow: But, some folks like 'em, and I always ooogle over them at shows. :D

This was posted before, but it will not work with a airbagged steering wheel. The concept can be worked with though. Maybe the radio switches can be utilized to send the signal to the receiver.

http://www.powertraincontrolsolutions.com/content-4.html
This is the control module they use to convert the signal to a transmission control. It does not list our tranny as a supported tranny, but.....

http://www.retrotekspeed.com/products/smart-shift/smart-shift.html
This kit actually hooks in to the tranny and uses a actuator to manualy shift the tranny. The control module does not look like it will integrate into the cab very well though. It also seems to be kind of a bandaid approach. I think I would prefer to use the one above.

It appears that no one has ever heard of the clutch-a-matic kit or transmission-----the set up consists of eliminating the the torque convertor and replacing it with a manual trans clutch system--pedals, flywheel, clutch pressure plate and a new bellhousing adapted to the automatic trans---this system was being sold back in the 70's and i think sold by summit racing or fairbanks trans ---i'm not sure ----has anyone any rememberance or knowledge about this system.....http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=1751254&a=30088793&pw=

I know what it is, back in the 70s some people did it with a torqueflite and called it a clutchflite. If I remember correctly the problem was the transmissions did last very long.

Bill.

thanks Bill ---at least I know that I wasn't imagining this set up ---thanks for the reply
