i have the B&B exhaust ( Hiflows mids and back ) installed with my ROE SC... now sound is great to hear passing by ... but to be in the truck.... i wanne hear my radio back ! :D

doubt that i can even pass inspection ...

now i would like to add some kind of muffler , think in the spare wheel place...

anybody done this or idea's ? think no problem in loosing some HP's...:D

Barry,
I have stock manifolds and JMB catless mids with the Magnaflow catback. I had a bad drone in the cab, so I added some 12 glasspacks. They toned it down just enough to be decent again, yet it still has a rumble.

Two different animals. Theres hardly any strait pipe on this BB setup to put anything in (which I have exactly the same thing). Some resonator tips might be possible but Im looking nto it. In the Meanwhile I am doing a gut renovation of my cab soundproofing with double layers of dynamat, filling all other cavities with expanding foam and fiberglass soundproofing

right Steve  no straights to put in some ... i tought of cutting a piece away in the tail and routing trough a "go and back" muffler ( in place of the spare wheel ) .. so the tips can kept in place as original...:dontknow:

I have the B&B with out Cats, I love the Roar!!!

The SC is louder than the exhaust!!

Just turn the music up louder!!:dontknow: :D

Ah, screw the niehbors:D :p , inspection will be a problem:mad: . Is there a certain Decebil range that is allowed? or do they just say, thats too loud??:dontknow:

95 .. i think ... at the very most...

95 db at idle or a w0t?? and 95db 2 inches away or 2 feet away???

if you're at 95db at idle something's wrong
if you're not at 95db wot... something's wrong:p :D

I had 103 ... or 105 at 3/4 of the stock :)p ) power... not a problem at the inspection. They don't rev the engine and when they say "dude slightly higher noise isn't it?" you say, it's because of the extra 2 cilinders. This ain't no HEMI pall

Any 3" resonators or small straight through design muffler (3" dynomax, magnaflow or aero) should tone it down a bit, and not lose HP. If you don't already have one, an H-pipe will also bring resonance down inside the cab.

I would try to mount them before the muffler...after the cats.

Did you install the B&B with the SC or before? I was just wondering how bad the sound was without the SC and with that exact exhaust set up.

i did a test run just after B&B install, before SC...noise level was already there...don't think the SC adds alot more...o yes, the revs are there quicker :D :D

i sure remember all the gearnoise from my GENIV was suddenly away  :D
( yesterday i installed my Jedi shifter.. is there a difference  :dontknow: :dontknow: ... :D )

yes, perhaps i can look for resonators and/or mufflers between cats and muffler... if there's room at all....:dontknow:

went to a exhaust shop to get some ideas... them tought that the deep rumble comes from the relative long pipes after the muffler...and ofcourse 3"....

Now they propose to put something behind the B&B muffler... but room :dontknow:

Those straight trough have quite diameter and cannot be placed together as the pipes run now....

I could kep one and run the other to the drivers side , each with a big straight trough muffler ? Then i have to work on the rear body panel ...

Or search for go&back mufflers ( in and out at the same side ) , so i could place 2 of them above eachother in the spare wheel place . Only need then 4 elbows to run the 2 exhaust pipes trough them instead of straight to the back.. and keep my 2 tips in the same spot...

They are gonne look for them as in that type they only have up to 63 mm... so 2"...

just drove home... no, that's TOOOO loud... even scary as you don't hear anymore the wheels, road condition, suspension, engine,SC, etc.... not to speak other cars ...:(

You spent alot for that exhaust! Your going to modify it? I have same setup I am looking into those resonator tips and sound proofing.
