B&G stage 2 flash. Is it better than the mopar flash? Where do I get it from? I think I just want to buy a seperate ecm and keep my stock one. I know I have read this junk a hundred times butt :dontknow: Of course it could be early Alzheimers setting in. My truck is regular cab if it makes any diffrence. I have catless mids, mopar cai and magnaflows. Will it help me and what other bolt on's can I do to help ?:dontknow:
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.:D

Call DC perfomance. I just placed my order for the Stage II and T-stat for my 05 Quad Cab, it will be here Wednesday. Talk to Tony as Dan is on vacation.

great guy to deal with!

I bought mine from DC. Also got the extra PCM.

Though, I bought my 170 T-Stat from BOOMER cuz his was <$30. I forget what DC charged for their T-Stat, but I think it was like twice as much - Don't know why?

So the B&G flash is better than the
Mopar one ?

QC's get a lot more out of the flash then RC's. I have had B&G stage 1, stage 2 and blower flash. With a RC I would get a VEC2. You can tune more for your truck. The biggest advantage to the flash is the TRQ managment (which you don't get). Here is a list of what you get with the flash.

http://www.bgchrysler.com/Service/High_Performance_B_G_Flash/high_performance_b_g_flash.html
STAGE 2(91 or 93 OCT)- Revised aggressive timing & fuel tables(Auto/Manual), Shift point raised to 5950 rpm, Rev limit raised to 6200 rpm, Hyd fan duty cycle modified approx. 15 degrees cooler, Torque management modified(Automatic only).

Yours being a RC won't get the full advantage of the flash. Unless you live close enough for someone to tune the PCM. So what are you looking at. If you want just an easy out of the box mod that will pep up your truck. The flash is a good choice. 5 minute install and you have your stock one for warranty work.

If you want more aggresive tuning and want every bit of HP you can squezze then think about the VEC2. But the install on that is more involved as it splices right into your PCM.

Do this, think about your end goal. Not just what you want right now but you want months or a year from now. If you plan on more modding down the road then maybe the VEC2 will be the best choice. If you just want a little something more to help out a stock truck and try to keep the warranty then go with the flash.

Smoke

Very well said Smoke, but to add if you go with the Vec II be sure to have someone with experitise in wiring , the connections is the most critical part of the vec .

Who has the stage 2 for their RC and is happy with it? I understand that the flash is more noticeable in the QC but wanted to know if you had it to do over again would you do the flash for the RC. I know the VEC2 is the end all but don't really want to splice into the wire harness. I am considering a flash and Magnaflow mod down the road and want opinions from folks who have done it. Thanks

Thanks for the advice guys, I know it doesn't help as much with the rc but I ordered the flash from dc today. They said maybe 30 hp from it, do you think that is a reasonable expectation ?
