I just installed a new PCM with the B&G stage II flash. I'm happy with it's performance, they detuned it a little for the AZ heat (110degF+ regularly), fuel (only 91 octane), and turned up the duty cycle on the cooling fan. I gave up some HP with these mods, but I'm keeping it safe, for now!!!

Anyhow, back to the reason for my post - I went to access it with my Snap On Modis scantool and it can't communicate with the new PCM. I swapped the stocker PCM back in - works fine with the Modis. I spoke with the folks at B&G and they point the finger at Snap On. I didn't bother calling Snap On because I know how that conversation will go. :thefinger:

Has anyone else tried accessing their flashed PCMs with aftermarket scantools? If so, could you list your flash supplier and the scantool you used? Also, any issues?

Thanks in advance.

I have not tried what you are trying to do. I have B & G flash also, and I am very happy with it.

I have a scan tool also (B&B Electronics - Auto Tap), mine works for the most part... with my blower flash... but not all of the sensors will read....

B&B provided me a "add-on" cable and that works to reset and read my codes, but it will not read or view anything else, when I use it without the extra cable I can read most of the data, but not reset any codes...

I even upgraded the kit to the full blown expanded Chrysler software.

Maui - it's what lets you read and clear OBD codes. Good ones will let you (among other things) change the revs per mile in the Chrysler ABS computer so your speedo reads correctly. With the Modis, you can concurrently graph up to 8 parameters that OBD tracks.
