I installed my shifter yesterday and everything seemed to go well. Today I threw some hemi wheels on the truck and took her for a drive. Shifted great... nice and tight.. The only thing is.... Has anyone had a "rattle" at high rpms?? Idk if it's something to worry about or not???

I'm guessing here, but I'd say based on your desciption, you ended up with a female shifter...:p ;) :D :burnout:

Time for another beer...:D

yeah i'd try a new shifter knob, take it off and see if it makes the same rattle that'll tell you if it's the knob or not

get hold of dragon and get a viperhead shifter knob looks way better and less noise ,,,stock ball is a hollow metal ball amps up any noise

Might sound dumb but if you didn't lock-tight your shifter arm they can work their way loose. :dontknow: worth a check.

heres a story from a while ago, might help.

So last night I took the truck shifter apart to see if it was misaligned.... sure enough I think it was. I loosened all the bolts like stinker said and drove around town for 15 minutes. Put it in nuetral and tightened the bolts. WOW reverse has never been so easy to hit. I pulled the knob off, the metal O that has rubber and 6-8 screws in it off. loosened the bolts, and drove around.

SO before putting everything back together. I noticed NO shifter noise.... wtf... double checked the shifter bolts. all were tight. next put the O with 6-8 screws on it back on. Drove around. GRRRRRR noise and vibration!!!! Talked to a buddy. Went and got some silicone. and put 2 little beads around the whole thing. Let it dry and screwed it back down. test drove it. NO NOISE!!!! grinning ear to to ear I put everything back on 1 piece at a time and tested after each install. That fixed the problem. No noise. Easy flowing gears, and 1 Happy dude!!

any one tried a t-handle with the B&M?????

you may be right, but the b&m didn't need a new shifting knob for it to be quiet...... :( that viper knob did nothing for quieting the shifter, but it does look great !!!
