I couldn't deal with it any longer. I removed the B&M Shifter yesterday the rattle that I had to put up with just wasn't the perfomance gain (the shorter shifts). It was driving me f'n crazy so I put back the stocker, and I now can listen to the s/c sing without any rattle from the shifter.:D

I'm tempted to try Boomer's GEN X shifter, but people are posting that they still have some noise. I wish their was someone in Miami area that had one to check it out.

I have the B&M w/o noise. I jusr wrapped the shaft with tennis grip tape and it muffled it. Als, you can take the little plastic piece from the stocker that joins the upper and lower and reuse it in the B&M to rid the sounds.

Some transmission resonate the noise to the shifter more then others. The noise isn't the shifter, its the tranny....Some have installed the B&M or Xmetal with little to NO noise, where others are so loud its painful. Its the luck of the draw :) I have installed the same shifter (many X-Metals, and many B&M's) in different trucks and everyone is different (sound).

Good luck!

Interesting.....My B&M is as quiet as stock. No difference in noise when I swapped mine.

you can drive mine if you want.....but i'm telin you what.....its LOUD!!!!!!

Boomer has a new shift lever out which is suppo'd to decrease the noise.

you just have to turn the tunes up louder!!!!!
