Is anyone else's B&M shifter noisy? Mine shifts great but its a bit noisey. There's no ball on it so the ball isn't rattling but I can hear most tranny noises still. (the gears whirring and such)

are you still willing to do it for the $20?? If so Ill prolly just send it to you so its done right. My truck in't goin anywhere right now anyway......

dont know but all the girls that been in my truck have thought the noise was cool...Said it makes it feel like your in a race car..ehh:dontknow: whatever drops the panties:marchmellow:

Well between the shifter and the MBRP 4" exhaust... It gets a bit more noisy than I like. It just sounds like its not right with the shifter noise...... ill just get them to drop their panties in other ways....:D

Yes, $20 plus you cover all shipping costs.

Yup, mine does the exact same thing. I figured the noise is vibration from the trans resonating thorugh the shifter assembly. Mine gets worse the more the trans is loaded or under load, i.e. applied torque. And you can hear a constant noise (hum or whine) while cruising, say 6th gear, 65 mph. The fix mentioned in the attached thread earlier basically isolates the shifter handle from the base assembly (that attaches to the trans). Also, look at the Hurst shifter. They used a fairly stout rubber and steel bracket set up to isolate vibration resonance from the trans.

I had a B&M and it was noisy...now have a Gen 4 X-Metal and it is much louder (ball handle)...until....I put a solid aluminum pistol grip on it...90% of the noise is gone....

Where did you get the pistol grip from? It screwed on to the shifter shaft? All I've seen is whole handles like I have from Gunslinger Automotive...

i just put my b&m in and used the stock ball shifter head and cant really notice any difference in it being noisy....
