Ok I just ordered my B&M Short Shifter today.  I just wanted to know how to install it on a 2006 Ram SRT-10. Any suggestions on the easiest way to install the shifter.

ITS SIMPLE, IT SHOULD COME WITH DIRECTIONS, IF NOT RICE EATER CAN HELP YA OUT WHEN WE HIT THE TRACK ON THE 21ST. ARE U STILL COMING?

Sorry to dilute or hijack the thread........

But it sounds as if guys installing the B&M shifter are having an easier time of it than the install on the X-Metal shifter....

Is there a reason for this ...? And if so, is the extra hassle worth it.....?

Both the B&M and Xmetal install the same way.

The trick to both is after a day or two of driving go in and loosen up the 4 bolts that hold the shifter to the trans. Keep a little tension on the bolts, but very little, and then run the shifter through the gears and retighten. This positions the shifter and make operation a bit better.

Well, it's a good thing (that) I live in San Diego.....

When I fianlly spring for the Gen22 X-Metal shifter. I'm coming to your house (or Patrick's). Both for the install and the follow-up tweak.

Thanks, Jackie.....

Love ya, my friend....

sounds good

My X-Metal was simple. Took 20 min. Allen wrench, the most time was taken in putting the stainless allen screws back in for the shift boot ring. Waht a pain in the ass, wholy shit it was more frustrating than anything else I have done.
