The girl in the above pictures, we call "Hatch". She had the final "finny" flight, aka incentive ride flight in our unit. She 'accidentally jettisoned the hatch on the ground before takeoff. She was suppose to reach back and turn on her oxygen before takeoff - - well, she grabbed the wrong handle! Whoops! Big Mistake. Smoke, noise and fireworks. Instant class A mishap.

Cool deal, I used to be a B1-B avionics instructor at Lowry for 4 years back in the day when it first came out, and worked on and flew in B-52s in Grand Forks before that. Was a cool part of my life.

Why the thumbs down in the title:dontknow: Looks pretty cool to me.

About 18 years ago, I was doing some electric-motor dyno testing at the Reuland Electric motor research lab in Ohio (just borrowing the lab for a couple days) and met the guy that designed the fuel pumps for the B1 Bomber. Really cool guy . . . owns his own vinyard too.:D
He had one of the fuel pumps on display in his "museum" of his designs above his winery.

Hey Aldog,
I used to drive YOUR Jeep's Daddy to high school.:D ;)

I put a thumbs up, not a thumbs down. It won't let me change/edit it. Thought Mikey was messing with me.
