back up camera in rear view mirror

got in my dads truck yesterday and it has a back up camera built in the mirror. the camera is mounted in the tail gate handle. it's a 08 ford harley edition f250. thought it was cool as shit.

i have a camera/screen instead of the mirror....bought the truck that way...now it's cool but far from the quality of a mirror....let's say i can see if there's a car behind me or not....
gadget, not worth it.
Where is my original mirror ? yes, i have him.Time to reinstall

I forget if it's next year, or the following year that it become a requirement that all new vehicles have them.

Both of my wife's Infiniti's and her Jeep have/had them.

kinda looked like the one in the first link. had a center line to help you hook to trailers and two lines on each side that went from green to yellow to red. will try to get some pics tomorrow and post them up.

i just brought the wireless VR3 from walmart for $100...i get a lot of interference but it is better then nothing...parallel parking in NYC is difficult in this truck...my last truck (FX45) came with a back up cam....i think it spoiled me...

don't get the vr3 it sucks ....it has to much interference and pic did not show all the time....i have had it for 10 days and i am taking it back to walmart....i am going to buy a camera and run a wire to the monitor today .....i will post pic of the project...
