Bandag has long sponsored these kinds of trucks. It all started when Tyrone Malone had a couple of deisel trucks back in the 70s that where the worlds fastest trucks. We used to sponsor him to come out and host shows for our Bandag dealership. He would do burnouts for the crowd and I got to ride with him a couple of times. In a truck that large you are just tossed around like a rag doll for some reson so you better be buckled in tight. He even went to Australia once and raced a jet powed truck and won. The trucks were capable of doing sub 13 second quarter mile times back then. Sadly his whole fleet of show trucks were lost in a wharhouse fire in California a few years back.
