I am looking for a 2005 block, if not then justa short block. Time to start over, anyone have any leads?

Let me make a call....

I have a contact at SRT Motorsports, left him a voicemail.

Have you talked to RSI or Greg Good? RSI will probably want to sell you a whole short block. Greg may not have one unless it's a customers.

$13k for a stock short block (non forged):stoned:

That is an 8.4L short block that E posted.

Truthfully, IMO for what you are wanting to do I'd find a used, running, seasoned block that has 30-100k miles on it! It's always been racer/machine shop rule to find a block that's run fine with no issue for many miles and build upon this. Reasoning why is called " Core Shift" and its basically wear in the molds and adjoining parts that results in heads, intakes, blocks, and any cast piece you can think of not being 100% identical to its thousands of siblings!
Again, this is my opinion and what's been good for me.
Flip side is many racers with money start with a fresh (CNC block) that ensures correct measurements and identical twins time after time.

Why just an 05 block? Why not other years, 04 or 06?

03/04 have crank sensors on flywheel trigger while 05/06 are crank triggered ;)

I apologize for my lack of mechanical knowledge... but if you're starting from scratch why does this matter? Is the 05-06 set-up better?
