So what do all of you think about this one??

http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=305590

Is the government out to get him? It is kind of odd that his trainer finally got out of jail the day he got indicted. Did he finally sell him out, or tell the truth?

On another baseball note, what do you yanks think of arod possible getting signed?? He is a good player, but he has not been on one team that ever made it to the world series. Is he worth the money?? I think not.

I wondered when someone would come after Bonds.... It's been proven...not only that he lied about his steroid use, but that he used steroids during the time he was hitting all those dingers...

If there's any equity in the system, Bonds will be stripped of his home run record. He should also be banned from Cooperstown. I don't care what race he belongs to.... Let the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons cry racism til hell freezes over.

Pete Rose never gambled on baseball til his playing days were over... He was beaten from pillar to post over it.... He should be in the Hall of Fame... with what....? 4500 career hits or something fantastic like that.....Rose got fkd....

Barry would never have been able to hit that many home runs without performance enhancing drugs...... No fkn way....He'll never be poor.... give him what's comin' to him.....

Bonds lied under oath..... While we're at it, get Slick Willie's ass, too....;)

Personally I don't think any of them are worth what they are paid.

And Bush, Chaney, Rove, Wolfowitz, Vick, Lohan, Spears, Strawberry, hell the list is endless...

Lets stop putting people in Jail for possession of weed, fine the hell out of them until we can decriminalize it, and make room for some dangerous people.

Good point John...lets pay them all $150k a year and let it go at that...take it or leave it...where else can they make that kind of money?

So roy where is all that extra money going to go if we cut the players salries back?? The corrupt owners that turned a blind eye to their people using roids to either hit it out of the park or pitch it faster??

I think the owners have as much guilt on this one. They made a buck off these guys and as we all know from rasseling, aka the WWF or WWE, these palyers are going to have some serious health issues when they get older. It was their call to sick a needle in their ass, but the owners allowed this to happen.

I think this whole thing is a balck eye for everyone.

The government has been after Bonds for a very long time. It just took them a long time to put a case against him. Personally I think he is guilty, but I really don't have all the facts.

As far as Pete goes, I agree he should be in the hall. I still remember him sliding into home head first. No one had a greater love for the game. If he would have only admitted his issues up front things would be much different for him. We are a nation or forgivers, just say you did something wrong and after a while we will forgive you.

Of course Bonds lied, he thought in his roid mind he had no choice. Which he probably didn't. If we are going after people that lie under oath like slick willey, why not go after the leaders that break the law all the time like GW. Read up on the recent telecom bills that are going on. Congress and the Whitehouse are trying to absolve the illegal things the telecom industry did to supply our personal information to the government. Of course they were doing what the administation wanted them to do, but the request was still illegal and they should have denigned the requests.

Actually the worst travesty in Baseball has never been properly addressed since 1920. The Black Sox scandal of 1919 and the banning of Shoeless Joe Jackson. If we are being honest about things. No doubt Rose deserved his ban for life in my eyes. He committed the cardinal sin....He bet on the game and I hate to differ with your view Tim but for a couple years he was a Player / Manager and it was proved he bet at that time. As a Manager well that is well documented as well. Did Barry Bonds use steroids Yes of this there is no doubt, so did Jason Giambi and a myriad of players during the era. Difference is Giambi had the sack to admit it and not lie and be an arrogant Asshole about it. No bigger Mark McGwire fan on the planet then me and I have no doubt he did as well. So did an awful lot of pitchers...Suprising huh ? Barry was much to my regret a HOF candidate before any of this anyway. They are using him to make an example of....Once Marion Jones came outta left field with her confession the writing was on the wall.

The HOF will never adhere a asterisk to any record, he if found guilty will never make a ballot......Bud Selig's legacy depends on that :D Is Rose as a player worthy of HOF status of that there is little doubt in my view....He's the hits king ! Is Bonds ? Well he hit em didn't he ;) :D Neither will ever get in I don't think personally. But I would Love for the Commish to reinstate Shoeless Joe......Talk about a player that got Fkd......The greatest player to ever play said Ty Cobb. Babe Ruth admired him so much he copied his batting stance. He was illiterate and forced to sign a confession that he did not understand and never took any money. Had the Series high batting average, hit the only Home Run in the series and was flawless in the field. Hap Felsh testified in court that he was not in on it and so did Eddie Collins and Chick Gandill. Eddie Cicotte also testified to the same but he was still banned with others even after he request that team owner Wrigley hold him out of the series and told of the conspiracy, before the series started :D

I FKN Love Baseball and my Grandfather once told me stories of playing with Shoeless Joe...... Not only a fan but a historian as well. How about that Dodger game at Chase field Timmy.....Would Love to take in a game with you :D

First it needs to become a game that everyone can enjoy...how about tickets to the game for $2.00.

There is greed everywhere.

Your comment about physical problems...once again I think that is where some of the profits need to go.

But I am a capitalist and I do believe that the outstanding athletes do deserve to be paid well, but it has become obnoxious and it will only get worse in the future.

Since we are now taxing specific groups for specific purposes...I have huge problems with that approach, but we have started doing it...how about taking the professional sports teams and levying a heavy tax on profits (and funding a subsidy for sworn law enforcement officers? Or maybe teachers in poor communities K - 12.

Tax them? You have to be f*cking kidding me Roy. We get f*cking taxed so the govenment can pay for the god damn stadiums. That is what pisses me off to no end. If you cannot afford to pay for your own building i.e. staduim for your place of work, then why should I have to do it.

I could go on for hours about this shit, but I have to get back to work.

And then they go out on strike or threaten to? F*ck them all.

Vote the stadium taxes down.

Well, vote them down, if you can find the referendums that end up taxing us.

We are in a quagmire of hidden expenses that are passed to us.

I remember that one of the ways that the refurbished Stadium in Jacksonville was funded was by claiming that the football players would be great role models for your youth!

And yup, I will pay out of my taxes for every stadium, if the teams that use them pay our teachers and law enforcement officers! Seems like a great trade to me.

I agree, the union/owners should take care of some of the older players that were not fortunate enough to get the big checks that are handed out these days. I think what the NFL is doing to some of their older players that have serious physicals disabilities due to football is a shame. I would hope baseball might do a better job at taking care of its own.

Contracts will keep going up for sure.

Do we pay for the players that have ruined their bodies with steroids?

Some times you don't get a chance to vote. I own a Virginia company and just received a tax bill from DC for 2005 and 2006 revenue I generated in DC, talk about re-opening the book. The bill specifically stated it was an additional tax to pay for the Nationals new stadium. It wasn't a very small number either:(

I am also a Nationals season ticket holder:mad: Talk about getting screwed from every direction:mad:

Actually a lot of them die young, so maybe yes maybe no.

If you look at it from a mile up or so, yes we do pay for players medical expenses. Either through ticket prices, taxes, or some other avenue.
