Does anyone here have any experience running the old stlye cut-outs that you have to crawl under there and remove the plate by hand? Just wanna know if their worth it, and if they seal good...

its pretty aggravatin. i had trouble with the gaskets leaking. I put copper gaskets and that did the trick. Alot of track out here anyhow dont allow you to open em. I think for it to be worth it id get some electric ones

Yeah, cause id be opening them ALOT:D :D

Soooooooo........anybody wanna buy something:p

Hey man, youve seen and heard my truck. i have the old wing nut setup. When they were installed i had them tack weld the bolt to the cutout. Now all i have to do is spin on the wing nut. It takes me about 90 seconds, never had any leaking. My gaskets are white and i have no marking on either of them showing any blowby. I leave them open nearly all the time, unless im going on a road trip or the old lady and i are on a date and she doesnt want to smell like exhaust.

Zach used to have an electric one on the SRT4. I can remember problems with it sealing at times because of soot build up. I think as long as you clean the butterfly every oil change or so it would probably be ok..:argh:

I ran the race ready electric cutouts, and they leaked from new, and only lasted 6 months or so before rattling apart. Did love the sound while they worked.

This is what i worry about, at least with the old-school wing nut cut-outs if they start to leak it would be a fairly easy an low-cost fix;)

Awesome, what brand are you running and how aggrivating is it to take the plates on and off?

They are the factory installed cutouts. It is held together with 4 bolts & nuts & takes 10 or 15 minutes to take apart.

So far my electrics are holding up fine. I couldn't imagine having to crawl under the truck. Electric is the way to go.
