Installing my new JMB exhaust sunday and I know a lot of folks on the site have done a similar install. The question I have is that in the instruction from Bassani it says to install the new header gaskets right over the top of the old ones. when installing the headers??? This sound right to you guys? Justin if your around, please chime in.
I have heard that they tend to fall apart at times when removing the old manifolds.

any tips appreciated ...... Jim

Do not use the gaskets that come with the headers...they will not work and will leak.....use a new set of factory gaskets....you can re-use the ones on the truck if they are in good condition but new gaskets are advised....I did reuse mine without problem though...

I bought new factory gaskets. The old ones fell apart like a deck of cards. Replace the header bolts with 12 point ARP's it will make things alot easier. You can get the proper toque with a 1/4 drive wrench.

Absolutley what these men are telling you.

You can also use allen heads, but the 12 points headed bolts are easier to deal with.

Make sure to use high temperature antiseize on all the header bolts, collector nuts and the connector ball/bell.

The stock gasket pack will usually fall apart when you take it out.

Dragon/Patrick at Avondale Dodge (one of our vendors has the best prices and fast delivery) So PM, or call him as he always has these gskets in stock.

Also retorque every 100 miles for the first 500 miles and you will never blow out a header gasket.
