Finally took the plunge and bought and installed Bassani ceramic coated headers.Far from the easiest job i have done but not too bad.Took 2 days taking it easy.
Hardest part is getting the 3 bolt exhaust flange off due to factory nut holders which get in the way of getting a wrench on the square nuts.

A acetylene torch or other cutting tool would have helped there.

Wrapped the starter, starter cable, steering shaft boot and part of the right inner fender with aluminum heat shield tape.
Autozone has it in a 1 1/2"/15 ft. roll.Part #953383

Seems to have a little more pep and barks the tires hittng 2 nd. easier.

Have a few pic's of the job (please excuse the dirt:D ).

nice job

i notice they are 3in1 and 2in1,2in1.... is this matching the firing order or just a convenient layout ? Clear not equal lenghts ... but this is a "older" design which i believe was better then the classic 5 in 1 ... ( for a viper :D )

:congrats:Great job Fursale.. They look awesome in there. This is particularly interesting to me since I will have to tackle the same thing with my Bassani headers when I get back home in couple weeks. I already have the spark wires pulled from the block (did that before I left) so at least that part is done. I especially like how you mentioned the wrapping of parts with material from Autozone. That's something I will have to look into. Matter of fact..

:argh:HEY LARRY!! I have a :deal:deal for you involving about 2 or 3 cases of beer for you if you just come to Houston and install my Bassanis for me.:D

I would be guessing but I believe that is the only way to allow for a connection to the stock exhaust flange in the space allotted.
Longtubes make more HP but cost more $$.

Another thing I forgot to mention is getting some hi-temp black paint for the heat tape.It comes in silver so I painted the pieces for the steering column boot and right fender, which is another odd thing. Some people have the fender a couple inches away from the headers and some say it was touching.
Mine had the 2 inches but I put the last of the tape on it anyway.

Good luck with your install.

Nice Job ....... Took me and my brother 7 hours headers to tail pipes.

Looks good, nice dress up for under the hood.

Get the LT headers they are easier, and faster to install, just my two cents.

LOL...I'd come down and help but I've got 53 tax returns piled in the floor next to my desk...and everyone wants them done today..:argh:

Headers look good.

Those stock flange bolts suck. I had to cut the last one off on the passenger side with a Sawz-All and an air chisel when I put my Gibsons on. Those square nuts SUCK!!!

You got that right. The bolt threads looked fine but the nut came off squeaking and groaning all the way.
