I talked with Marty today and there have been issues with the headers. They had to mod them just to get them on as they didn't fit right. Then the gaskets keep leaking. I read the other threads about using the OEM along with the gaskets from Bassani. However the other problem is the bassani's are oval and the stock ones are round (not sure about the shapes, just that the shapes are different). Has anyone else had problems with the bassanis not going on correctly or problems with the gaskets?

I used OEM gaskets with mine and never had any problems:dontknow: My bassani's didn't come with any gaskets..

My come with gaskets....why I dont know...directions said use the OEMs which I did...over 11,000 miles now and nary even a loose bolt...

Used the stage 8 fastners w/locks (bling), used new OEM gaskets as well as the ones that came with the headers. Had 1 small leak in the center tube at the head. Retightened and all is well so far 2500 miles.

Was there a difference in shapes?

Seems to me they were square but there was a slight mismatch in hole size, between the OEM and the others.

Course that was 8 months ago, and I'm Old so ?????????

The issue I had was fitment. If I recall correctly, we had to trim the top of the control arm bracket to allow for clearance. I believe this was an 06 issue only.

used oem gaskets, got them on in two hours. no problems at all. tell him he may have to loosen the rest of the exhaust. what kind of mids you got on there.

I also used new Dodge gaskets, and didn't have any problems.

Bill.

I have 2 sets of Bassani's, used oem steel gaskets on both and no leaks at over 20,000 miles. I did have to trim 1/2" off the upper control arm bracket on my srt ram.

Cleared my uppers without shaving...I only had to cut a hole in the passenger side wheel well to keep from melting it..

Marty got them to work with some other gaskets. He could probably explain the problem better then me as I'm not there plus I don't anything.

The heads are D shaped and the tubes are round. The gaskets from Bassani do not even cover the lower port, and the factory gaskets expose the lower tube to atmosphere. I will lay their gasket up to the head and snap a pict today. Nowhere close for even all motor applications by what they sent us. I had to mig-weld/grind the inside lower ports to a D shape then mill flat.
The Headers also hit the the top of the castings on the heads which kept the bolt holes from aligning at all, so the top flange had to be milled down. They are nowhere near the control arm. Someone beat Darryl Bassani for me....

#1 shows the casting tab in the way of the upper header flange.
#2 Shows the lower D port of the head
#3 Shows the complete mismatch and bolt misalignment of the Bassani gasket which the header matches and does the same.
#4 Shows the Bolt mis alignment
#5 Shows head studs that require the flange of the header to be cut to individual tubes like the B&B Headers have.
#6 Shows the factory gasket used along with the Bassani gasket, allows a huge leak at the botton of the header tube.
#7 Shows that even trimming the gaskets to clear the head casting at the top/ and align the boltholes, the headers still do not seal.

Pictures coming up.

thats crazy, mine bolted right up, id double check and make sure you got the right ones.

If you have problem's with them leaking you need to use the gasket the supply with the old oem gasket also, and use the bolts supplied or grade 8.
This should stop the leaks, otherwise check fro small cracks around the welds. 3k on mine no problems, the 2 gaskets should seal it up.

sounds like a F**&9 up from the factory, they should go right on without any problems or mods. Send em back there not right.

# 6 shows that the factory gasket did not work with the supplied gaskets together. That is a bad rumor that cost me another set of gaskets.

i used factory oem gaskets and didnt have a problem. didnt even look to see if they would work. been on there 2 years now. havent even had to tighten them up
