Bassani headers leaking at motor....

Anybody heard of problems with the bassani shorty headers leaking at the seal to the motor? My tech says that they have been leaking the whole time causing AF ratio inconsistency and loss of boost. Im gonna tell em to put my stock manifold back on i think. Any input will be appreciated.

Spent all that money on that engine and you went with shorties?

Should have anteed up for some Bellangers :)
 
Got em waaaaayyyyy before the BIG money started gettin spent....didnt know any better at the time....Honestly, on a blown motor u arent gonna see much difference with ANY of em.....maybe a little but not NOTICABLE in drivability....Im goin back to the stock mainfold.
 
What kind of header gaskets are you using? You should make sure you are using the OEM kind, not paper ones.
 
Never had a problem...but I am using Stage 8 Locking Bolts. The engine sure runs cooler and my last dyno was 466 RWHP and 505 RWTQ.

One thing to notice is that I am NA and it could be that the pressure from your blower damage the gaskets.
 
That's the setup I have. I would suggest if you don't want to get rid of the Bassani's to go with my setup. It was good enough for constant 107+MPH passes and 12.9s ETs at 81 F and 5700 lbs.

Just use locking bolts.
 
Havent had any problems with my headers. Have had them on and off several times and there has been no leaks.

OEM gaskets work great and re-torque after the first couple hundred miles.

I have about 30-40 dyno runs on them and can mirror HP/Torque and A/F run after run.
 
They defiately are whatever came ith the headers. i didt know any better so I jst dropped off the truck and told em t install them...SO use the gaskets that came ofthe stock manifold? Ordo need to gt new stuff from Dodge?or where...

Order a new set from Dodge....any place where you can order factory parts.
 
Well.....Iwas wrong. The gaskets on there ARE stainless steel header gaskets from Dodge....when the motor was reassembled they went and got them.....so they have been changed...Any ideas or should I just take em off and put the stock manifolds back on?
 
Bud...please try the stage 8 locking bolts. The only other explanation is that you headers are bad?
