Bedcover with shaved handle

I want to put the OE bedcover on my truck. The guy that's helped me with all my motor work works for dodge and can get me one pretty cheap. My concern is that it won't work on my truck because I have my tailgate handle shaved. Could it still be used or is anyone running the factory cover with there tailgate handle shaved?

get a lock unlock kit for shaved door handles bud, it will take some fabbing up maybe , but worth it, all it is is a selonoid to move the locking mechanism with a key fob, so you should be good.

Thats the only way I would know to do it, would be slick.

You could also get that shock that lowers your tailgate slowly with a remote lock,push the button and your tailgate opens,or a cable that you reach up from underneath for a back up if the remote doesn't work?? Thats would be kewl

I have a shaved tailgate too with roll top. I added a door locker actuator and even went so far as to figure out how to tie it into the passenger door lock so when I pushed the alarm unlock twice it would also pop my tailgate but never ran the wire! Another project put on hold....

Regardless, its easy to do.
