bent leaf spring?

Anybody have a problem with a bent leaf spring? Trucks sitting higher on one side and it didn't launch the same at Pinks on Saturday.

I have caltracs and the lower spring on the passenger side is almost touching the caltrac. About 1/2 inch gap vs 1 1/2 inch on other side. Truck is higher by 1 inch on that side.

somehow you got it twisted buddy,the oem springs on the QCs really suck , you can try swapping over to rc springs or have the oem ones re arched, if you need the oem rears off an RC I have a guy not far from ya that may have some

Get under her whilst she sits on the ground or ramps and loosen spring bolts and shackle bolts, jump up and down a few times and retighten. I have had springs buckle from sticky launches and get the shackle in a bind. Willing to bet it works!

Springs are just that, spring steel and they have memory. They will always want to return to their formed state so re arching and de-arching rarely lasts. Also another reason I say the shackles are bound and springs just stuck in that position until freed.

Thanks, I'll try that first while I find a set of RC springs, I hear they're supposed to be stronger. Goes to show how well those Nostalgia slicks hook up ( 1.60 60ft.).

I was from a Dodge dealer that supposedly Dodge makes one side higher then the other is for torque reasons that the driveline will be lined up under load.My truck is 1" higher too and never had slicks on it,and was never raced before I got it.

While this is possibly true, you wouldn't see what he is seeing on the spring pack/overload spring. As far as RC spring being stronger than QC springs:dontknow: that makes absolutley no sense to me whatsoever. Not to say it isn't true, but I have seen both loaded with similar amounts of weight and the RC just squats in the back and the QC never budges from height. A 19ft ski boat is the object that was compared. I just can't see the spring pack being stronger at all.:bird:

Yep, you wrapped the springs on launch and the shackles are bound up, I bet!
Nothing wrong with the springs more than likely. I personally think the slapper bar does help a lil with this from the factory, but a four link, or simple ladder bar setup should alleviate this issue. 1.60 60' is awesome in a QC bro. I take it you have a stall and spraying off the line?:tee:

Yes, launches are great. Lower spring on passenger side is maybe making contact with caltrac when I launch.

i had my springs de-arched to fix a lower side on my truck..... stayed dead on for the two years i had it.

Decided the best fix was cutting of about 4 inches from the end of the lower spring that was contacting caltrac and lifting wheel on the launch. Guess with the springs on the bottom of the differential that could become a problem with the traction I'm getting with the slicks. The truck is lowered so that's why I may be the only one with this problem so far. Well see how it works on Saturday.
