Went to the track this weekend, and for some reason there is a whole lot more rubber on the side from the DR's. Usually I can wash it off with just a little work. But this time it's thick. What do you all recommend? And is there anything to put on the truck before I go out to the track, that'll make it easier to clean after?

I used it. And it takes it off pretty easy, but what a mess it made. I had to use three beach towels to get most of it off. I thought there maybe something out there that you put on before you go and then you could just spray the rubber off with a hose.

Goof off,oops works good too;)
Where do you get it? And do you put it on before or is it used to clean up after?

I'm not sure how it would work but Tony sells a thin polymer coating called Rejex. Everything comes off it very easily. Bug splats etc. You could try that and see if the rubber still sticks. I'm betting it would at least come off a lot easier.

i just sprayed wd40 on there before the track and after. youll see the rubber and vht start to drop off then hit it with a pressure washer and hand wash it and it should come off. i would imagine the rejex would work like a charm but i havent tried it.

You can get that stuff at walmart. Just be sure it has a good coat of wax on the truck before you go so the surface is really slick. That should help it come off a little easier;)

either i tape mine off - with blue painter tape, or wax the area b4 i go to the track

Just tape the wheel arches with painters/ body shop tape.. all the road racers do it.. about 2 or 3 layers and it protecks against rock chips too.. i used to use a spray on chem. but nothing stops chips and a good burnout can destroy the quarters with chips..

I tried clear film once but it gets dull fast... as soon as your done that day just rip it off

now this is what the owner told me on race rubber, it will remove it pretty easily, but to put on 2-3 coats of it since tire rubber is pretty hot and will try to bond, but that with only soap and a rag it will come right off:)

I spray it with Pam cooking spray if I'm not going to bother to tape everything up. The Pam doesn't evaporate like WD40 and everything hoses right off. Been using it since my offroading days... works just as well for getting mud off.
