Better Gas mileage? I know, i know, knew what I was getting into!

I know that you don't buy these trucks for mileage (and that's usually my answer when people ask me about the MPG) but is there anyway to see a mpg gain on these automatic trucks? Will a computer upgrade help MPG as it did on my diesel truck?I use it as a daily driver and I'm only averaging about 8 MPG around town, so even a few MPG gain would be nice! Thank god the gas is cheap now!

look into getting an sct tuner from either roe racing or dc performance there are more but these two I know of and I use Roe for my tuning.

My "Beloved" the Red truck got 9 MPG

My "Broken" the Silver truck gets 10-11 MPG................... 130 more hp 2 more mpg 13.4 mpg at 75 mph.

I was getting around 12-14 with a stage 2 flash. Which would be about the same as the SCT. I did not have any rear cats and I had an CAI.

EIGHT!!! Hell I get 11 in town and 13 on the highway. It is basically stock. I have a Volant intake and 2 cats removed that's it.

Secret: The best way to get awesome gas mileage is to always drive downhill! Let me know if you can figure out a way.......I always seem to have to go up hill LOL.

Man the RC's get way better ave. MPG. My truck gets 14.3 average and it just has a CAI. Than again most of the time I shift 1-3-5... guess y'all can't do it with the autos

Yea I figure its because I just got the truck and I'm still awestruck with the power this thing produces.....also thought since it is an automatic I am experiencing this low MPG...I thought I'd get at least 10 MPG...Guna cut the cats then go for a CAI and see if that helps!!!

I have had mine for three years, and I still can't keep my foot out of it. That's why I get about 8-9 in the city.

I have a K&N drop-in and a Stage II Flash. Stock except for that....

The Stage II or SCT will make a significant difference in the performance, but I don't think it is a reliable way to gain MPG. Driving more conservatively will do more than anything else, IMO. But who the hell wants to do that?!?! :burnout:
