Ladies and gents, I need some info please. With the vast knowledge on the forum, I know I can get all the info I need.

The build, I am taking my 2007 dodge magnum R/T and putting a viper engine in it with the auto trans from these amazing trucks.

This I want to know. Being that the engine and trans will be out of the car, I would like to know the power adders You would suggest for autoX and Road racing.

mods that I will be doing that I know all ready, 10 point cage, full pedders suspension. that is about it.

What I need to know
What gears for the LSD should I be using?
Cam which on
I will need custom headers made would like long tubes
Exhaust?
I will be using the guts from the drive shaft unless you can point me in the right direction for better parts.
What should I do?
what trans upgrades would you suggest?
What engine upgrades that are not superchargers and TT would you do?

Any help would be great.

Thank you in advance.

If you are not going forced induction then a cam/head combo would be your best bet. Besides that, just all the normal bolt ons and of course, a custom tune.

in a car that size, why isn't a stock motor enough?

how much power are you looking for? a heads/cam combo is your only other option, which can be had at several vendors on here...

the viper car headers will probably be the only ones that work because of the ride height of the magnum... i don't think truck headers will work...

all you need to do is a gm solenoid in the trans and you'll be fine, but the 4spd is still a piece of shit... i'd be nicer to have a 5 or 6spd auto if you must go auto (though i think a 6spd T56 would be a better option, and easier to transplant)...

^^^What he said. And you can get the SCT handheld tuner. Its similar to the Diablosport where you just load tunes. But once you reach a certain point, you need to dynotune (which Im sure you know)

That would be like me asking you why would you want a viper engine in a truck. lol Because it is AWESOME!!!!!

Headers will have to be custom made, I will need a new oil pan, new brain for my cpu with coding that will make the computer system work together.

yes there will be modifications required to put this baby in, but it is def possible. I have seen it in person.

now will i be looking at maybe TT the engine later yea probably. So that would come into the factors as well.

I know I will be going 11" wide wheels with 12" tires in the back.

Don't get me wrong I love the hemi in the car, but the strive for something different something really unique is what drives me.

Seems like you're really knowledgeable and should be doing a v10 swap you're self.

Have you ever built any engine? Its a pushrod V10 you'll need the typical things.

Also a huge power rwd car for autox is stupid, what racing do you currently do?

I was thinking that too. This would be an awesome drift monster though..

I will not be doing all of the install myself. I have a speed shop that will be helping me in KY.

I have never built and engine before. But I will be learning a lot in this build. My dad is an SRT tech, and my little brother is also currently going for viper tech and also engineering to try and get on at SRT. needless to say, we love our mopars.

And that is fine that you think power on the autox is stupid, to each their own. and as for racing currently I have been doing local autox events in indiana. And will be looking for road courses after the build is done. I find that pulling up to a line whether it be a viper magnum or ram people underestimate what power truly can be found in these vehicles, plus how bad does it sound to be beaten by a wagon.

in doing research I have found that yes you can drag a viper and the ram as well, but the power lies in road racing as well. with all the right set ups i feel this could be a monster in its own.

i am doing a viper swap into a 1958 car so i feel your pain lol. 4 link rear and coils over all around is the first thing im doing

what car or truck are you using for this build. I know that you can retro fit a charger, chally, to sit on top of the frame of an LX with the body of your car or truck your are using. might be an idea. Then you can think about putting full set up suspension on her.

What engine harness/PCM do you plan on using?

I would call/email Dan at Viper Specialty. He has done some really nice V-10 transplants and "may" give you some pointers. I'm sure he will not tell you all of his secrets, but I think the hardest part is going to be the PCM issue. I would research that the most.
