Hey bud, you overhauled your own engine right?

If so, having overhauled non-v10 engines did you see anything that made it any different then a SBC that would warrant me taking this thing and having it done vs doing it my self.

I know how to plastic gauge, I know how to operate inside and outside mics, calipers and telescoping gauge's..................

what did you use to break the ridge at the top of the cylinder? did you have it machined? who machined it?

anything else that you think would be helpful. Thanks.

I'm not going to get stuck in a one year long engine build...................hell it just a engine........

If you don't do it yourself, I suggest ART up in Buda TX. Very reasonable price, and the motor will come back with a 3 year/36k mile warranty:dontknow:

I'll pull the engine. I'll put it back in..

It's lookin like I want to bore it .010" over and undercut the crank .020" and use Chevy pistons and rods saving a little..............a lot of money.

front three cylinders are 170ish on compression.............. gap was around 41 or 2

But the catch can look like cheech and chong are living in them............

123456789 10 is the plug order,front drivers being #1 and front pass being #2 is the order that were on the plug wires when I replced them.

There is nothing really that special about these motors, if you have done few rebuilds, then get the service manual and follow it...
I had my local machine shop clean and resurface the block it ended up being 600$, mine was really easy because it never really blew, I just bent a rod. So there was no damage to fix.

Hey do you have a leak down tester?

I did a 3-53 detroit once, found a bent rod..............it was 1/2 a inch shorter then the other cylinders! Still ran at 1800 RPM and carried a full load. Just smoked like hell.
