Nelson, I feel your pain, I really do. I just sold a brand new, never been fired, fully polished S&S 124 for $5750! That's all I could get out of it. Even had a dual Webber carb setup on it, and an electronic ignition. I've still got a ton of other stuff that I can't sell.

I sure wish we could turn the clock back a couple of years. Good luck with this sale, I'll let the folks I know back your way know about it. I don't know if any of them have any $$ either, but you never know.

New lower price $20,000

absolutely MUST sell !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

custom bike market went in the shitter faster then the housing market

those bikes can't even pull 12k at auction right now.

sorry to hear your pain on this - one of my buddy's (this is his full time business) you should see people's faces when they want to get out of their bikes and they paid $47k 2 years ago, and he has to tell them that its only worth $11k now.

hey, at least our trucks didn't drop that bad

A friend of mine bought a Big Dog for 28k two years ago and can only get 13k for it now.Market is flooded,I suppose. And the economy isn't helping.

I feel you...I built mine and had damn near $45K in mine...had only 763 miles on it when I sold it....and I only got $17K for it:mad: Market is crap right now....Bike was 100% chrome and with a 124 S&S.....
Good luck on the sale....

I've been hearing that there is still quite a market in Asia. Not sure if it's true or not, but if so it might be a great business to get into. Cause you can pick them up here cheap right now!

And it's not just customs, Harley isn't doing too good themselves. They even shut down for a couple of weeks, and dealerships are shutting their doors.

I love the Street Glide. They brought them out just a couple of months after I bought my Road Glide, otherwise I would probably have one. I will keep my eyes open and ask around some for you. It's definitely a buyers market though, some dealers still have 07's on the floor. Not like a few years back when there was almost a year waiting list.

I have heard about issues with the fly-by-wire (electronic throttle) on the 08 baggers. I really haven't look into it too much to see how prevalent it really is or if it was just something that happened in the beginning, but that is something to keep in mind.

Another thing to think about is just waiting a few months and snagging an 09. I believe that this will be the last year for the air cooled motors. Might not be a bad year to own, it could be desirable a few years down the road. And the way the market is, you might be able to score a new one for real close to what a used bike would run you. Just a thought.

I'll let you know if I hear of any though.
