After some research and talking to a few folks I decided on one convertor.

its an 11 inch convertor, with an approximate stall of 2400rpms.

its hand built, billet, single disc converter, about 20lns lighter then oem.

One of our members has allready tried one recently and gained 3 tenths in the quarter mile.

Also throttle response is better as well as everyday driving.

Each converter will be built to each trucks specs, be it NOX, to stock to a strong naturally aspirated build. So each one will be different , with the stall set for each build.

This is the same converter Mike Brady used in his quad cab to set the standard of quarter mile at 10.50's.

If intereseted just let me know, retail is gonna be $1300 plus shipping

I will probably drop the price for the first few orders for a short time.

Will be dropping my tranny soon, to repair a small leak from the rear main seal. What other changes will have to be made when installing this on a stock transmission? What's the factory stall? And how will it change the every day driving characteristics?

Steve...I cannot comment on the characteristics of this convertor but Tony has said that it was even better on the street and saw good gains on the track.... 3 tenths for changing out a convertor isn't bad at all...As far as swapping them...If your pulling your tranny already it will be stupid easy...just snatch it out and put the new one in....just make sure you fill the new convertor with fluid before you put it back in the tranny....and make sure its full!

Actually it can be a bitch if your doing it by yourself, and with out a lift. The toughest thing is rotating the converter to line up the bolt in a very small site window to get them out, and then putting them back in when your ready.

ha ha your right....i was on post using a lift and had a extra hand...i did pull it by myself though...but getting it aligned and the nuts started was alot easier with a extra guy helping me out...
but Steve is pulling the tranny anyway....from there swapping out the convertor is a piece of cake.... even if he doesn't swap it he's still going to have to line everything else....and if he's using a lift...pice of cake...

yeah, I was rolling around on the ground doing that crap, it sucked!

Yea I know that had to suck! but I'm really interested in getting a tq as it was a huge improvement when i swapped out my hemi's....

I talked last night with the one guy that has tried his,
he will post up later with his impressions

but basically around town driving was alot better due to throttle response, with the lighter converter it picked up a bit quicker, and engaged firmer thru the gears.

as far as install, correct , on the gound can be a pain, but if on a lift, its more of a simple swap, jsut be sure to put fluid in the converter.

but the first few I will probably put on sale for a couple hundred less on initial purchases.

Single disc, we discussed the tripple disc and the trq they handle arent needed for our applications, plus they are tons heavier, the tripples are more for the diesel (spelled right dan?) applications of 1000+ ft lbs of trq

A converter will take half a sec off your quarter mile time.

I know you got yorself one bone, how do you like yours?

LOLOL I know on the half, but if I posted that up and someone only got two tenths, then I would get bitched at:D

CONVERTER

I had the converter installed and was really impressed with it. Would have done a long time ago if I knew the difference. Engine revs quicker, my truck flashes up to about 2700- 2800 RPM on launch. No issues with street driveability at all, actually better for me. Only a few passes on it but dropped three tenths. Have a friend with same mods except for converter, throttle body and caltracs, and I'm half a second quicker on motor. Timeslips don't lie.

converter

Don't think any body would be disappointed. Don't forget to adjust or replace intermediate band with a kevlar one when tranny is dropped. I go to the track alot, so it was preventative maintenance for me. We used a lift so it wasn't too bad.
