Billet Valve Cover Question

I just installed a set of X-Metal billet valve covers. Each cover has a small breather on it. There is a 5/8 or so vacuum line connected to the stock drivers side valve cover that is routed to the underside of the intake manifold. It pulls a lot of vacuum from the engine and into the intake, I simply capped it off. It seems to me that all it is doing is drawing a lot of super hot air into the engine through the intake which we know is not good. I do not have a catch can and do not really see the need for one. My question is, am I OK with the setup like this. 2005 R/C:dontknow: :dontknow:

You should be fine, if you wanted you could remove one of the breathers, and run a vaccum line from the valve cover to the intake, that way it would draw and reburn gasses from the engine.

Right now your engine is breathing freelly, with no crancase pressure, which is a good thing, too much crancase pressure and it will build in the motor and cause oil leaks, also opening up the breathing ability frees up the engine a bit,actually allowing the engine to spin a little easier..

in other words you will be oky doky poo ky

The crank case evac sucks moisture and corrosive gas (from blow by) out

of the crank case. On mine I run the hose to an inline water/oil separator,

then back to the intake. Also with the srt-10 being a speed density type

system drivability problems can develope if you just plug off the line.

PS When you nail it, the pcv closes anyway.
