Blagojevich impeachment:

This guilt by assholciation shit doesn't cut it, guys......

Yer making me sorry I asked a serious strightforward question.....

I disdain politicians as much as anyone, but that is not the issue.

Thanks....

If I read this right, then I'm a little confused Tim.

It sounds to me that you listened only to his side and based on that you are forming an opinion. Is that correct?

If so, I can understand your position. After all, politicians are by far the greatest liars that walk the planet.

I personally cannot comment on this, as I do not have the time to waste to listen to their BS on either side.

Sorry brother John, but you've read this wrong......

They've accused him of something but presented zero evidence to support their allegations......

That's what I'm saying.....

I think he is guilty,BUT everyone deserves the right to call witnesses and present a defense.

I think there is more going on than meets the eye.Maybe they are making him the scapegoat ? Maybe to keep further scrutiny from something bigger or worse ? :dontknow:

The FBI has indicted our county sherriff on enough charges that if convicted on all of them,he could get over 300 years. Is he guilty ? Who knows ?
When they have an agenda, they don't care about guilt.

The Orange County sheriff, his wife, and his mistress were all indicted on fed charges last year. He was just found not guilty by a jury. Not sure how he pulled that off, but he did.

Fresh from CNN

Apparently he was not able to convince the Senate.

The Illinois Senate has voted unanimously to oust Gov. Rod Blagojevich and to bar him from ever holding political office in the state again. Earlier, Blagojevich appeared before the senators at his impeachment trial and made his case. "I'm asking you to acquit me and give me a chance to show my innocence," he said before the vote.

No surprise there I guess. He should make a standoff in the Gov's mansion. hehehe

I'm not saying (that) he's innocent. I just think the process is bullshit.....

It smacks of "business as usual" in politics...... dirty, dirty and dirty.

Either he got too big for his own britches or just pissed off all the wrong people.

Either way, he's out'a here........ Later Rod......

I thought I heard somewhere that they had Wire Taps of his conversations ??? :dontknow:

In the last few days I've seen Blago (both) on FOX NEWS AND in his impeachment hearings..... I must say that he makes a very credible case for himself.... I am quite impressed , not only with his personal credibility but by the issues he raises (.... the absence of witnesses or actual evidence) ....:congrats:

What do you guys think.....? Not simply about the allegations, but about the absence of any real evidence and whether or not this guy's being railroaded by the political machine in Chicago.....

Who's dirty? Him... the machine or both...?

Has anyone else heard him being interviewed? What do you think...?:dontknow:

D

I hear that Illinois politics are as dirty as they get.

However, so long as the process by which he is being impeached is carried out according to the laws which govern the process, then it by definition is clean.

I have seen some of the interviews, and am unconvinced that his statements do nothing more than reinforce his appeal to the public to see him as a victim. I find that repugnant and condescending. He reminds me in an intrinsic way of Saddam Hussein's denial of wrongdoing when tried for crimes against humanity. He seemed quite certain that he was within his rights to do so. I believe the same is true here.

What I have not seen (in this thread or elsewhere) is a motivation for the state of Illinois to take action for any other reason than to expel someone with a pattern of an abuse of power.

My take Gents is that he could not call witnesses because it would incriminate Barry and his buddy Rohm. Can't crawl through a sewer without getting a little crap on you.

Ours is accused of Federal RICO violations, numerous sexual harrassment (or violation of civil rights) charges, abuse of power, theft of county property, using inmate labor to build his house (with the stolen material),accepting a bribe

From an insider, the "sexual harassment" stuff was mutual 'til the feds came in.
I figure they "made an offer you can't refuse" to the women in question, i.e. : either cooperate or face charges of your own

do a google search on Sheriff Daniel Presgraves :D

Hell... It doesn't even have to be city/state/federal.... The Dean of UCF (University of Central Florida) was just ousted for using his "Company" credit card to buy $40k in personal use electronics.
