Blue Angel Crash

I just read a bunch of news reports. Needless to say they are conflicting as to what happened and if anyone was killed.

Let's pray that everyone is okay.

god bless the family and friends of the pilot. if he did pass, im sure he is in good hands

Has this happened before to them? I kinda remember this happening once before. If not the Blue Angels who was it?

Weird thing is the weather was bad on Wednesday so they didn't do a full practice. Since it was raining they pulled in one of the planes to take a picture in front of for us. It was #6 and the pilot is in the pic with us in front of his plane. Just kind of weird and sad.

RIP to this brave Naval Aviator.
I'm going to +1 that.
R.I.P.

In an attempt to bring a positive out of this huge minus, I present a video:

After watching "A Year In The Life- Blue Angels" I can tell you this: The accident was not pilot error.
Think you're badass? They're doing all those moves at 400 mph. Those guys are so good, it's flat-out amazing.

i think they lost one in '96

From CNN.

The last crash involving the Blue Angels was in 1999 in south Georgia. Two aviators were killed when their F/A-18 jet crashed while trying to land during a training flight.

If I remember right it was in the early to mid 80's when they lost the entire Air Force Thunderbird team.

It was a practice session, and the lead plane flew into the ground. Since the rest of the team is only watching the leader, or the plane next to them, they all crashed at once.

I just saw this on the news....Kinda hits home as I knew quite a few of the guys from The Blues.

I pray for #6's family tonight....:)

You think of everything that went on in the few seconds that this pilot knew things were bad. A lessor man would have simply ejected. One needs to understand an appreciate that these guys have a sense of responsibility that most will never know or understand.

God Bless

Forever a "Blue Angel"

I am damn sorry to hear this.

Some of our older members may remember that back in the 80s there was a Blue Angles (back when they flew the A-5) video on M-TV that was set to VanHalens song "Dreams".

Well ever since them I will always like the two together, so allow me to add this, a modern version of that video.
