I had to have some of the body molding repainted on my truck due to the accident the previous owner had in it.. My question is that the guy fixing it is having trouble with the double sidded tape not sticking:dontknow: From a distance it all looks good but up close on the top side there is a gap and you can see where the tape is not sticking:mad: All the areas where cleaned good before the install also.. Has anybody had this problem and what should I do to fix it?:dontknow:

about how much is it sticking out? i have one on my passanger door that is sitting furthrer out in the middle then the sides but you would not notice this even standing there looking for it. you may want to make sure that place where your installing this is back to orignal and flat across or the molding may pull away the area where its should stick.

I will have him check that out.. But I will say that I had to buy some new pieces that come with the doublesided tape already on it and they look good.. He is using 3m tape so it should be good.. He stripped all the old off before putting the new on also.. Maybe he should use some wider tape:dontknow: I think he put 1/2'' on them..

the molding should already have tape on it and if you bought new then they already have it on them. i happen to a front of the bed molding in my office and it has the tape on it already and it just so happens to have 2 clips on it. check out the pics. as for the fitting i was saying make sure if there was body work that the body work is streight. a new part with a bad body work could do what your saying with the gap.

check out the pics

I have had my moulding replaced about 5 times. Every time it has the same issues. It just doesn't stick. I have had 2 body shops do the work and it still has a gap. One of mine even fell off while I was driving. I think you are screwed now. Sorry man.
