Finally getting around to installing the kit...temps finally below 100F! Decided to tackle the front first. Since I was going to be installing new shoes and having the rotor's turned I'd go ahead and take the front suspension all apart. No issues at all with disassembly though the rotor's were frozen to the hub. I ended up removing the hub w/ rotor and then pressed the hub in my hyd press in order to separate them. Ive got 30K miles on the truck and the stock pads really did a number on the rotors....very worn. Had them turned which left them at 13.8mm and 13.6mm in width. Just past the limits. Definitely new rotors next time. Maybe cross drilled aftermarkets?

Ok, now for the question. Both upper A arm attachment points prior to disassembly where positioned near the limits of adjustability (wheel alignment). From what I've heard/told we need to lengthen the opening in order to get proper alignment after installing the lowering kit. How much do I need to open it up? 3mm? 5mm? 10mm?? I don't want to have the alignment shop say sorry and I'll have to go back in and open it up farther. Prefer to do this once only! :) I understand why the instructions provided by Boomer doesn't give specs for this (every vehicle is different) but want to find out how much change takes place in the adjustment point with the lower kit. THIA!

usually i open the slots towards you, about a 1/8 to 1/4 more, that should get it close. you would be surprised how close you can get it with a angle square, and eyeballing the tire angle, before you take it into the alignment shop

Hey Gary - When you get my lowering kit shipped to me.. do you include instructions on how to install it?

The rear.. I can handle doing.. looks fairly simple.. but not sure on the front on what I have to do.

I think it is just Coils and Shocks, right BOOM? :dontknow: Oh, and hogging out the adjustment hole.

They come with instructions and is pretty straight forward. You can also reference Patrick's instructions as well:

No surprises, pretty straight forward. Just be careful when that rear end drops :D

Patrick's instructions really helped. Especially with the front. I used a pneumatic die grinder with a 3/8" cylindrical-shaped cutting tool from my Dremel kit. Routed out about 3/16" which was plenty for alignment purposes.

For whatever it's worth, I didn't have make the hole bigger on mine, the front end aligned perfectly with out doing that.

So your hole was already enlarged. :dontknow: ;) :p

azpyro,
If you are putting this on an 06 its the lower control arm thats adjustable not the top.
Also after installing mine and even after alighnment I now have a BUMP STEER PROBLEM (when driving on less than perfect roads it darts right or left when hitting bumps)
I have to fight the wheel to keep it straight :(
Has anyone else put this kit on an 06 and had this problem?
I think it has to do with the geometry change of the 06 lower control arm being adjustable and the 04-05 are adjusted at the top ?

Any input Gary?

Yes, its going on a 06... maybe this concern is something that Gary can address before he ships mine to me.

Where abouts you located at... me and a good friend of mine are going to be installing the Super Charger the weekend of Oct 28.

Torn Achillies.. ick... hope it gets better soon.

My thinking is that since you have to move the lower arms in (mine to the max adjustability) you are pulling tension on the stabilizer bar and links putting them in a bind, where if you are adjusting the upper (04-05) it doesnt affect the stabilizer.
Any imput?
Anybody?

eventually i will make a kit that can relocate the tierod end to keep them at the same angle as the control arm. until then we have a urethane spacer that goes under the springs to lift the front end up a bit to control the bumpsteer, and instructions and the kit to adjust the rear height so you can level the ride height to your preference. the 06's are critical onm alignment, so make sure you give your self enough adjustment room on control arm
