Well I installed BOOMERS Gen IV shifter, catless mids and Bassani headers on my neighbors 05 RC today. No real problems on the installs.....Bassani forgot to include lock washers with the header bolts, but not too big of a problem to remedie. :dontknow:

BOOMERs service was great as usual. Everything was packed with 50 pounds of padding and a 2 rolls of tape. :D Didn't need instructions since I've done most of these mods on my truck already.

Anywho, I had to test drive the truck after all the work and DAYYUMM that Gen IV shifter freakin ROCKS..

Gotta have one for myself now for sure. :D

Keep up the good work Gary. :burnout:

:)

Wish I had a SRT living around me...next door would be fine.
And that is one sweet shifter!

I'll be getting that shifter sooner or later :) Any in depth thoughts on it?
I just couldn't believe how POSITIVE the shifts are. I can't see how anyone could miss any gear with this shifter. I went back to my old habits of just rowing up and down thru the gears without thought.....and never missed one gear. The SRT10 with Boomers shifter is how the RC truck SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE to start with.

When you really get on the truck hard it really feels like the drivetrain hits harder on the shifts. You don't even have to let up on the throttle at all if you don't want to and you still can't miss the next gear.

The only complaint I have heard from anyone is the noise. Well, it's not really a noise. It's real hard to explain, but what it seems like to me is you just really notice the natural noise that the tranny already makes a little more.
It didn't bother me at all, and it really wasn't that much more noticeable. If your radio is on at all you won't hear it. :dontknow:

I had the same problem with the header washers and lock washers....they werent there. I had to have a friend bring me some.

Wow....what a neighbor.........you are a saint....
LOL, no I just don't want to see my friend drop another 2K on labor when I can easily install the mods. I have his X-Metal lowering kit in my garage waiting to go on next weekend.

His truck is starting to look real good. Just need to get it painted SILVER now (it's red)

:D

i want to move to your neighborhood! SRT-Drive!
you are a good friend and neighbor! your shifter goes out this week.
thanks for the kind words

Its good to see another rc in our area. I live about 5 miles away does this constitute a close enough proximity to get the good neighbor :star: help on install. lol

I'll try to get some tonight if it doesn't rain. It's the last night of Street Tire racing at Gateway In't 1/4 mile. :(
