Just curious here, Why the change up.

Since I am now sponsored by Pro Box Rocks, and they are fully supported by Rockford, I want to try and get some sponsorship from rockford... so my system will be entirely, ProBox and Rockford.... outside of that.. no other reason... :)

Are they just plug and play with stock plug ins? No special wiring is needed is there?

No such thing as "plug and play", however for about $20.00 from Crutchfield, you can buy the harness adapters that will allow you to plug into factory speaker plugs and make them into pigtails that you can easily connect to the speakers without having to cut wires for your front/rear doors.

Just call them tell them your year/make, and they will sell you the harnesses.

The dash has no adapters, so you will need to cut and splice your own for them.... easy to do, takes about 15 min each side.

Maybe a stupid question , but is it easy to remove the door trim panels from our trucks? :hmmmm2: I like to know it before it's broken
I will put my pioneer avic dvd navigation sytem into my '05 SRT QC and i will change the speakers and rewire them.

Yes, really easy.

Front:
Remove door handle using 10mm socket.
Remove the 2 large screws.
One up by triangle near mirror.
One below door handle
Remove the 2 small screws at the bottom of the door panel
carefully pry out the control panel, and disconnect. Careful the tabs
that hold it it like to break easily.
Grab the handle and pull up on the entire assembly, should lift right out.

Rear:
Remove the door handle using a 10mm socket.
Remove the large screw below the door handle
Pull up the panel using the handle carefully, then reach inside, and disconnect the connector that goes to the window up/down control.

Hope that helps...

I swapped my bostons, for stock speakers, including removal, and reassemlbly in about 1hr.

what kind of difference in sound should you get by changing up to these??

Well.. with a stock radio/amps, you will have some difference, mostly in mid-bass response, and overall clarity. As ANYTHING is better than stock, even if you have the Infnity stuff... as they STILL use cloth/paper cone materials.

You will have better highs also. But stock systems are simply limited and prone to clipping at the amps.

So changing the speakers is a great start to building a better system and sets you up to upgrade further.
