Just wondering what u guys use to remove the massive amount of brake dust these trucks generate. Never had the wheels off and after noticing my wheels are BLACK on the inside thinkin its about time to clean them up . Any torqe specs on the lugs..?? thanks....also what do u guys recommend to take swirl marks out of the clear

Powercoat your rims "Brake dust black"...LOL...thats what I did. It is a huge pain..I would clean them and run to the store and come back and it looks like I hardly touched them.

My wheels are off once a week for cleaning of the rims, wheel well and suspension. I have found that if the last thing you use on the wheel is one of the many "anti-dust" products in the supermarket, it will lessen the amount of accumulation of the brake dust. Static electricity causes much of it to cling, going to different pads helps too...

Install Performance Friction Carbon Metallic brake pads, front and rear. Then brake dust will be greatly reduced.

I use Meguires Chrome wheel spray. It Works!

I use mothers all wheel cleaner.
i also switched to posi quiet pads up front... brake dust up front is significantly less than in the back

I went to ceramic brake pads all around. Major difference and well worth it.

torque specs are posted on the forum in several threads.

Got my truck exterior detailed before I put it up and I was in awe of what the wheels looked like with inside clean, looked like a different truck. Drove it 10 mile to storage and they were already accumulating significant black sht, yeah I know it's brake dust, but it's still black sht to me.

Unlike Prof, I ain't pulling those bad boys off once a week. The Maguire's works but I ain't crawling under there once a week either, again. Guess the advice on getting ceramic pads was good for me. I don't mind cleaning her up, but totally detailing her after each jaunt ain't very appealing either. Guess I'll do it if I have to, I'm too anal not to.

Powder coating the rims would work, if I wanted to black it out, but I don't, so I guess I'll just see what gets posted and hope there's a way to cut down on the time spent on this detail.

Keep going guys!!!!!
