Breaking rear tires loose

This has always been a thought in the back of my head. Since I have owned my 10 I've wondered if I have an issue with engine performance. It seems like alot of you can easily break the rear tires loose in multiple gears. With mine however, in 1st gear rolling about 10mph or so if I mash the pedal to the floor I can get the rear tires to break loose the rear end start to slide to the right, then the tires hook and I'm launched. Only occasionally can I get them to chirp if I try the same in 2nd gear.
I bought a clutch kit I plan to put in this winter, as I've wondered if the clutch is slipping. I have 53k miles on it and only mods are BBK throttle body, K&N CAI and an X-metal lowering kit. I run 93 octane fuel and change the oil every 4500 miles.

In my 06 I can break the tires loose in 2nd gear at just about anytime if I just mash the pedal.

If your clutch is slipping your RPM's will jump but your speedo will not.

It's better to hook up then the tires to brake lose if you you want them to break lose just hold your brake paddle then floor it bro

I'm not complaining about it hooking up. But being I have an RC holding the brake pedal is kinda tough. I also have new Cooper Zeon XST-A tires in to. Just from reading what others post about the ability they have to "break em loose", I wondered if I had an issue. also pretty sure my clutch isnt slipping but still plan to replace as I have no clue how previous owners drove.

COuld just be you have great tires. Before I put these new ones on, I could break loose just about anytime I wanted and I have a slow as QC. Now I cant break them loose at all unless I hold the brake and stomp it.

You probably have the 4.10 gears, 05 and later have 4.56's. Switch to 4.56 gears and an aluminum flywheel when you upgrade your clutch and it will spin at will.....then you'll need better tires.:rock:

When I had the 6 year old Pirellis on my truck, it would spin them anywhere in first or second gear. I have new Falkens on it now, and they don't spin at all, even from a dead stop.

Haha me too. Got new tires and it was better. Got a mail order tune from torrie and now its back to breaking loose in first and a little on second, chirps in 3rd on a good day

I get chirps in 2nd and 3rd, just no real spin. I've always thought that getting rubber between gears was a function of driving style, more than horsepower.

DA here (at the local airport), right now, is 7472 feet. It's amazing how much quicker the truck feels when I get some good air.

The pulling to the right would concern me. My '06 pulled like crazy before the rear end blew apart - literally - without any mods. First owner abused my poor Beast but she has a rebuild manual tranny, new rear end, and now a Fidenza flywheel and Centerforce clutch. Huge difference in driveability and chirping through 4th. I love my 10.

Prob no HP gain, but a reduction in rotating mass which makes her rev faster and if you will (easier)....deff noticeable!!

Taller side wall has a big effect, 31.6" Tire vs 32.8". His gear ratio would be around 3.95, that would explain not spinning.
