Anybody have any recommendations on brighter lamps for our SRT10's?

Something that doesnt require a rewire, just new lamps that are brighter.

The OEM High beams are freakin useless. I cant see $hit with them.:(

Thanks!

Silverstars or PIAA.

Wow...thanks!!!

the 9007XV would be the upgrade to a brighter light correct? Were do you buy?

Any benifit to the blue type? I know they look good...but are they brighter?

Thanks again!

I ended up with a set of Nokia Cosmic White Headlamps.

Not as good as the HID Low-Beams, but much better than stock and no 'lamp-out' light on the dash.

Got them here:
www.eautoworks.com

Forgive my ignorance, but I dont know what the HID's are?

Is that were you have to install a modulator/ballast?:dontknow:

High Intensity Discharge Headlamps.

Yes, they require a modulator/ballast thingy which needs to be mounted behind the grill/headlights.;) Though, they ARE plug and play.

When I had mine, the low beams are friggin' excellent, but the high beams are even worse than stock, and I did have a 'lamp-out' light on the dash each time I started the truck. The 'lamp-out' light can be turned off by simply turning on the headlights for a second and then turn them back off.

I never use my high beams anymore. I still get people high-beaming me thinking that I still have mine on (since they are so bright). Conventional lights don't compare, but there are cheaper upgrades over stock.

Boomer has them and is working on a fix for the "lamp out". :D

My set up has NO high beam whatsoever... and the Lamp out light simply flashes upon start up, at which point i turn my lights on/off and it goes out!! At night their like night and day over a standard halogen. Once you have em you'll never drive with any halogen light again!!

Here are pictures of silverstars installed in my truck. The left (drivers side) light is a silverstar and right is stock - john

Pep boys? AutoZone? Advanced?:dontknow:
Both have Silverstars.

the PIAA's are much brighter than the silverstars....lined up 3 trucks at the track 1 w/ OE, 1 w/ SS and mine with piaa....piaa = alot brighter.....

EBAY.....50% off retail...3 day ship

Had a storm here...lost power for 4 hours.:(

Is it possible to get the PIAA locally? I haven't looked at all for headlamps.

Thanks for the info!!!!!

I went with the Silverstars before switching to HID`s.I would in retrospect go with Piaa`s if not convertiing to HID`s.

Just for shits and giggles, I went to Pep Boys and bought Crystal Hyper White by 3A Racing Performance. Part number 46-9907.

Damn OEM are significantly brighter. WTF. Shined the beams on the garage wall. Oem is noticable brighter. Not quite as blue/white but brighter. These were $42.99.

Dont buy these pieces of $hit.

Now I have to go back and waste fu%^in gas.
