First let me start by saying that is a awesome bike. I'm actually looking at selling my r6 and getting a buell xb12 or 9. As far as the fouling of the plugs, well Try and see if it has like a piggy back controller(ie powercommander) and just remove it. This will allow it to just run off the pcm without any alteration of the fuel values. Again nice bike, hope to get mine soon!

yeah, ive always ridden cruisers. but ive always wanted one sine they started the firebolt series. quite a change ill tell you that... and since my truck blew up...i decided to get another toy while the truck is out of commision for the next couple months for a BIG BOY rebuild. IMO, its the best looking sport bike out there. the styling, handling and the SOUND!!!! it just pounds the ground man. anyways...i really dont even know how to check if there is a power commander. dont know where its located or even really what i does. is it a plug in to the ecm? anyways hope you get one soon...best move ive made since i bought my 05' RC.....

An aftermarket exhaust will usually cause the motor to run lean : more air, same amount of fuel = leaner mixture. So if it's running rich, someone's been fiddling. A powercommander is a small black box about the size of a pack of cigarettes that plugs in between the factory computer and the fuel injectors to allow custom tuning for aftermarket parts. They're most commonly mounted in the tailsection under the passenger seat.

Edit: Powercommander website doesn't list any applications for Buell, but they do list HD models? I suppose somebody could have made one work, or there are other piggyback tuners out there. I guess your best bet is to get on the Buell forums or try to contact the previous owner.
