I've been working on a smoker/grill off and on for a while now. I volunteered months ago to cook 80 pounds of boston butt for BBQ for a car show charity so I figured it was time to get it mostly done. I still need to do the diamond plate aluminum doors on the front. Lower shelf is for firewood, will have an upper shelf for utensil storage and what not. I am in a little over $300 on this so far. I need to buy 6 stainless steel hinges and some door handle hardware of some sort....probably old chrome car handles. Not much on this was new material. I have used an oil fuel oil drum(obviously), bed frames, crib frames, steam pipe, shelving from lowes, Ram shifter handle from a fellow member here, trailer ball handle , spark plug handle, wheel chair rack is the cooking surface. Probably lots of other odds n ends but that's a run down. 90% built with harbor freight gasless mig 90amp.

Silver basecoat then laid vinyl decal on it to then be painted and peel(bad idea you'll later see)

Drum painted but some peeling of silver resulted from extremely high quality decal and not very good paint prep.

A couple vids.
This one shows how the shifter handle works for the lid. It works a little smoother when you are looking at it and not the phone you're filming with.

All done......for now. Like I said, need to do diamond plate aluminum doors up front.

That is some straight up redneck sh!t !!!!!

And I love it, great job.

Holding an even temp well. I have about 10 degrees difference from one end to the other of the cooking area. About 4 more hours till I bust these apart and get some charred tips on em.

looks like ya got some flies in those burgers while they were sitting out………….
then ya just grilled em anyway, just more protein………?????
