Burnout Q

The advantage of the mylar (Steve get here and correct my names) I use is that it applies in seconds, and protects from stones, sand and most anything else that hits the rear lower quarter panel...it is transparent...but I bet Steve could get it for you in any color you want...when the truck goes to St. Louis in a couple of weeks, it will have the mylar on the front surfaces to protect them too...

Sorry for not contributing sooner guys, I haven't been on line much the last few days, we've been really busy at the shop. Roy is right about the benefits of the vinyl, it not only helps with rubber build up it also protects against rock chips, bugs etc. It's 8 mil thickness and transparent once it gets on the truck so it's barely noticable. It's very pliable so it's easily conformable to odd shapes and easy to apply/remove without any ill affects at all. WD-40 etc will help make the removal of rubber and bugs easier, but you still gotta scrub...how easy is it to just grab the corner of a piece of vinyl and pull it off rubber/bugs an all???

EDIT: 6k posts...kewl!!!

I tried Pam once at Moroso,
Sprayed it on,did My burnout, checked it back in the pits, thought to myself, wow this is great(came right off).I then finished the night of racing, went home and basicly forgot about it for a day.(BAD IDEA)It seems when left on,it breaks down the rubber and makes one big tar smear.Getting that off was a real b#@&h.So if you use anything, clean it off a.s.a.p.
The plastic strip is probably the way to go,masking tape also works well.
I'm pretty sure I was there that day as well because you guys sprayed my rear fenders with the PAM and I freaked out LOL sticks out in my memory
The PAM helped a lot...the next morning I wiped everything right off, burnt rubber, dirt and all :D
