Bushmaster AR-15 Varminter

Anyone have one of these. My boss is looking at buying one and I am trying to find out what people think of this model. He likes the longer barrel for long distance shots and although I disagree he likes the fact it doesnt look as much like a military version.

True from what I have been told Mr. Earl...just hoping someone had this model for feedback. He was also looking at the Remington R 15. Being a new model I was hoping he would go with the Bushmaster...interesting though one of them owns the other, cant remember which

bushmaster is one of the better ar variants. i would think anything they made should shoot pretty good. cant remember what twist he should get if hes planning on long distance shooting. but most ar's are only good to 600 or so yds. to go further youd need a 30 caliber bullet.

Twist is 1/9 and I think 600 yards will do

if he is looking for a long range gun a bolt gun will do a lot more. i bought my son a savage .223 heavy barrell with a accu-trigger and its shoots well to 800 yds. its only a little over 400 bucks but we spent a little more on the scope and mounts.

.223 is best for fun high volume shooting. if you want accuracy get a 30cal, either 308, or 300wsm or 300 ultra mag. you can grab 1000yds with the 30cal. and a mile with the 300 ultra mag. i had the ultra mag, just dont make the same mistake i did. get the muzzle brake!

I have a M4 and my buddy has the varminter... We went shooting together and switched up.... His gun is a lot heavier then mine but very nice and accurate and much more quiet. all around nice gun if you don't mind the weight.

allot of people think they are worth their weight in gold. i have seen some for 2500,
but i have seen some kicking around here for 700 range.

i had one built too. had a 30 in bull barrell with a 2 inch brake. you could shoot it all day with one hand. shot about a 6 in group at a mile.

find you a complete lower off of gunbroker and buy a upper from model1sales.com and youll be in it for less than a grand easy.

i stopped buying from gun dealers when obama got elected. call me paranoid but i dont like a record of all the firearms i buy being kept by a guy who asked people to report friends who gave "misinformation" on healthcare reform.

i do that when i can. we will be fine for now.a lot of guns will go missing if the govt tries to take them. a lot will suddenly be stolen or sold to private parties for cash...lol
