Anyone seen the butterfly screws coming loose?
Reached in there to try and wipe off some blowby and noticed
the one butterfly was moving around.
The other one was about to come loose.

However, went to take the screws out to locktight 'em and noticed they got a little tight again, so I assume they would not make their way to valvetrain???

I'm remembering playin around with old quadrabogs (GM Rochester carbs), when you take the screws out, that's it, your done! They ain't goin back in.

Any suggestions, besides spendin $500 on aftermarket???

Lastly, howabout alignment, I seem to remember that being an issue.

Maybe just try to snug em up in the closed position then add the thread locker.

Thanks,

Bart

What screws are we talking about here so i can go out and check mine for ya and tell u if theyre loose

yeah tooloe lost an engine because of one of the butterfly screws, better get you some loc-tite
edit: he had an aftermarket TB not a factory

Best thing to do is go to a tool store and get a automatic center punch. Then tighten your screws back up without removing them. Then center punch where the threads of the screw protrudes past the butterfly shaft. This will damage the threads of the screw and prevent it from coming loose and damaging your motor. Super cheap insurance.
