I'm looking forward to seeing how people react next year when they realize their TV doesn't work anymore. Stock up now on some converter boxes and you'll probably make a small fortune on eBay once all of the retailers sell out the week after the switch in February!!

To my understanding, it will not be an issue for those with DIRECTV or other satellite services. They are already digital, so it's no change for them.

Am I wrong on this?

One thing for sure, it will be Pres.BUSH'S fault when certain people loose their TV service,because of the conspiracy to Deny certain people their constitutional right to color TV!:D

I can see it now, they will get coupons for free 55" Sony plasmas as compensation for Bush causing them to miss a few episodes of Jerry Springer!

i have a tv tuner in my truck so i guess thats gonna end, will have to come up with something new to be able to watch it now. seeing i cant get cable there and the dish they have is frigen to big to mount on the roof....maybe a flush mount dish in the bed cover...that would be sweet

Nope.. you are correct, however, the # of people that still receive ALL of their programming over the air is unbelievable! Millions and millions don't have cable or satellite and you can guess that many of them do not that realize just what is going to happen in February '09.
 
I have cable, I NEED that highspeed Inernet.....

This digital converter box. Does anyone find it strange the goverenment is giving coupons for these things? I guess a priority of the government is to make sure everyone can watch TV.......

Strange? Not when it's other peoples money that is paying for the damn coupons!
I would give every thing I have to see the reaction of any of our founding fathers to this abuse of power by the current Gov't.:mad: :mad: :mad:

I do over the Air HD.. and use MythTV to record.... cost is 0... HD is HD.... and free is free... even when I had dish... I watched the local channels...

most people kinda figure I'm a cheap bastard... and maybe i am ... but I just don't see paying for what I can get for free.... I suppose if you want nfl or hbo... gotta have dish..and ya gotta pay

btw... you can get hd signals with rabbit ears :p but you've gotta have an HD reciever... and you gotta be close to a source..... when i lived on a hill i could get 50 or so stations... over half in HD... now i'm in a valley and require a bigger antennae... works like a charm tho :D
