Does anybody remove that plastic shield behind the grill or trim it when installing a CAI? I will post pics of my new JMB CAI when I am finished.

I cut mine out on my own truck, and have drove through some nasty rain without any issues at all.

I found the best way to post pics is using Photobucket.com Upload your pics and then you need to select the HTML tag and paste it into your post. Might be some other sites as well. I just put my JMB in and it works great. Havent cut out the plastic shield on the grill but I have noticed an increase in power, fuel economy and of course the sound. good luck

CAI is installed and looks AWESOME!! I also removed the plastic shield. I'm looking forward to ordering some powdercoated valve covers and a powdercoated intake now to finish my engine compartment.

NICE! for myself i would prefer leave the plastic shield on, but i heard if it is remove and it will reduce the oil temp??

The plastic is there because of the testing the engineers (who designed our front ends in the wind tunnel) did found that it created more downforce. These were the same engineers who designed the Craftsman Truck Series trucks (for Dodge) and our rear wings. Knowing why it's there, I think it looks cool, but I never really plan to see if it helps my downforce over 130MPH!:D

ahhh then i will keep the plastic shield in there thanks va viperam for explain, i get it now
