I adjusted the Caltracs for the 8th time today to match the new Zeon tires...ended up at two full turns for the Zeons = a spot most end up at anyway but just a few pointers.....

Too loose.....any half turn less than 2 and they are noisy and the front rocker bangs on big bumps and rough roads. And the ass end of the truck dips and sways with sudden powered lane changes. Both the Pirelli's and the Zeons would burn about 20 and 10 feet respectively.

Tight enough.....anything above 2 full turns and they get quiet, don't bang, stability improves markedly with lane changes. The Zeon's do a little two foot scratch and hook up...braked on the line at about 1500 rpm's and then full punch with no feather (yippee) and about 6inches of scratch with the first shift and totally straight the whole time.

Too tight....anything above 21/2 turns and it shifted the ass end to the left and wheels hopped off the line and burned the tires during the hop.

The Zeon's have eliminated 80% of the rabbit hunting and the Caltracs got another 15% when properly tightened.....big improvement and this was on the worst road around.

Bear in mind this is a QC with only a Torrey tune, K&N. The ambient temperature was 60 degrees with the sun shining on the road all day. So, in the summer heat things will change. But for now, the hole shot is much improved. Lookin forward to the lights.

Santeen is having problems with a squeek coming from the front mount. When I put mine on I rubbed it down with Castrol synthetic 50 weight(it was the only synthetic I had) during install and squirted some in for good measure with a thorough wipe down. Regular oils and lubricants will evaporate eventually so that's why the synthetic which doesn't, ever. Which I'm sure you all knew already. So I also have no squeeks, yet. :p

I miss burning the tires already :D :D :D So, that's it. Hope some of this helps someone. Oh, yeah, be sure and torque both keeper nuts on the bars super tight or they will work off and prep them first so they don't freeze.

Good luck!!!!!

man that sounds great.....I know i would miss burnouts to but can you just adjust it one way to beable to burn out with it causing any other problems on the street if you wanted to? then when its track time just adjust it back to what you have it at now being optimum for launching?

Just get the Paxton and you'll be able to have a decent burnout, even with the Caltracs. :burnout:

You can't smoke the tires because of caltracs?

With the new tires and the caltracs adjusted it just hooks up and goes, but the weather is still cool right now. You are just used to your high HP and prolly don't remember how slow the stock QC's are.:D :D :D
