I was wondering when the caltracs were installed how it effected the ride on the trucks? Also all the other goodies we put on to get the hp to the road? I want to have a 'vette kill but, I also use this truck for an everyday driver. If I put all this traction on will I have a log wagon?

Opinions welcome :) (I don't want the spousal unit all over me (angrily anyway LOL)) :dancing:

Comments?

After installing a set of Caltracs, the overall ride improved on my lowered RC. (I keep them preloaded all the time)

Improves traction
Improves traction stability (keeps the ass end from hangin out)
Improves overall ride quality
Improves cornering stability

What are you waiting for :dontknow: :D

Mmm torque is right. One time I purposely tried to Spin out when I made a right turn and the caltracs prevented me from doing that. If I didn't have the caltracs my backend would have broke loose and I would have been facing opposite traffic!!!!! I really don't know if it helps with cornering:dontknow:

I think you answered your own question there :D

I just bought a set. There still here in the box waiting to install. i really hope they help cause this truck really rides like crap! Unless your on smooth pavement this truck is all over the place! Really i get bounced around like a ragdoll. is that the way these RC's are? the QC is alot better ride (dont want to get into that!)

Well I have a quad cab. It sounds like a heck of an upgrade for the money. MMMMTORQUE: What do you mean by preloaded? Also, Nowhat: what does +1 quadcab mean?

Caltracs are adjustable and you can go from no preload to, well, as far the threads will let you ;) You are adding a load to the spings to prefent spring wrap.

Exlplained thoughly here:

Nowwhat is voting "+1" (agreeing with the text) as also applicable to QC's

Yo mmm torque Mine has the 1/4 turn preload setting is that for that track or street? The Shop In San Jose did it.:dontknow:

That would be good for street but you may need a little more (1 full turn) for the track. If you can make it out to a test and tune, bring your wrenches and keep track of the pre-loads and dial it in ;)

Steve

that bouncyness comes from the lower control arm not being parallel with steering tie rod...Also from the wide square shouldered pirelli tires i guess
