Mike you REALLY know how to kick a brudda in da nutz!

The good news....

While the motor is out...you have time to do the interior like Doneo....

I bet you liked that......Naaahhh one truck "ghettofied" is enough for me.....

In all seriousness his interior is simply perfect...the leather dash and those door panels....sweet........

I like it too.....but his truck is toooooo nice for me. I still have to use mine sometimes for work....Id mess it up..

well if you use you truck sometimes for work....you must not be working for 6 months.....

THE MAIN bearings were installed wrong....the upper bearings were in the lower bearings positions and vice versa....this completely prevented the crank from getting oil....hence the oil starvation....ITS a MIRACLE they got 100 miles on the thing......it shoulda blown up sooner!

You are right, it is amazing that it lasted more than a few minutes without any oil going to the mains and rods. Did they have all of them in backwards or just one main. If it was just the one main it could have lived for a little while I guess.

what idiot built that motor for you man?

The idiot was the Tech school kid working at the machinists shop. The head tech took a hot customer and left the engine stand for 10 minutes....the helped finished up and bolted it all together. So the lead guy didnt make him undo it to double check him.....$20k mistake

Unbelieveable.

Just goes to show you, the man incharge has to double check everything to be certain.

Bill.

Any chance you would consider giving the mess to Sean Roe...everyone seems to be very pleased with his results...while it might not be as close, it is only 3 hours away from you...lots of us swear by his work...Mike is picking up his beast today, and it may be the meanest around...give him a call...see what he would do!

ROE sent me to these guys!!!! Roe didnt have time to work on my truck when I started this mess.....I went there for a VEC install and a tune...THATS IT! Now look what happened....I dont know about you....but I wouldnt be driving that truck without PERSONALLY seeing it on a dyno....somethin aint right there......I wanna check their work, especially before driving on a long trip....or trailer the truck up there....

Guess thats hat happens when you cant read.
Almost all late model stuff is this way, and when you take the bearings out of the sleeve there packed in they are labeled upper.
As far as a cam welding itself into the block... steel cam riding on Aluminum without oil...aluminum more than likely galled and removal will be damn near impossible. Cam journals are realy going to be oversized by the time that one is through.
Good luck with the next build

nope....they align bore the block so that they can install "babbit" bearings similar to an AMC motor. ACtually I think the parts are AMC parts...I dont know much about it but if Boomer was gonna use this method for his PERSONAL vehicle......Im confident that it will work. Proline is gonna assemble the motor and everything so all True has to do is install it in the truck.....hopefully it will work.

Just talked to ED@ proline...he said once the block is bored and the cam bearings are installed it uses the Stock size cam. Mine is a Comp Coupe cam (custom grind).

What, now you require personal verification that it runs right? Give me a break!!
Signed, someone who trusted that their truck ran right...only to have it blow up on the dyno. Also, signed the one who got beat by a stocker at the drag strip after spending 13K to have it run right after it blew up on the dyno :)
